A/N: Just thank God for oddly perfect songs I just randomly find when I'm not even looking for them! Jar of Hearts is a beautiful song that, just this weekend, I finally really listened to. It oddly fits well in this chapter, and heck, throughout the whole story. I recommend listening to it while reading, because.....well...It just works and will make you understand what Kris is feeling better. So, as the plot ensues, ENJOY! <3

Pumpkins (Halloween Kradam Drabble)
Nov. 1st, 2010 02:54 pm"Daddy! Daddy, can we go buy some pumpkins?" Nine year old Jessie asked Adam, her famous and loving father who's husband had died a few years before. Adam smiled and bent down to meet his four year old son Ryan's eyes, seeing Jessie's face fall a bit.
"Ryan, do you want to go get some pumpkins?"
Ryan shook his head and looked up at Jessie with wide eyes.
"She'll throw pumpkins at me Papa."
Adam rolled his eyes and picked up his son, allowing him to be cradled in his arms like he loved to be.
"I'm pretty sure Jessie wouldn't do a thing like that. She'll be a good girl at the pumpkin patch, right Jessie?"
Jessie nodded eagerly, crossing her heart with her little fingers in promise. Adam looked at his son who still didn't look convinced, sighed, and began walking to the front door of their mansion of a house.
"C'mon Jessie. Those pumpkins don't stay there forever!"
"YES!" Jessie yelled, quickly pulling on her coat and running up to the front door next to her father. "Thank you Daddy! I promise I won't be bad."
Adam smirked at his little girl as he opened the door.
"We'll see about that one."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Waiting at the pumpkin patch for their turn to go pick a pumpkin, Adam and his two children were anxious and giddy. Jessie looked to Adam and sighed.
"I want to get a pumpkin now, Daddy."
Adam looked at his watch and took a glance at the line ahead of them. There were at least five families before them.
"Sweetie, would you mind if we went to the grocery store and got pumpkins? There sure is a lot of people who got here before us."
Jessie shook her head. "No Daddy. I want to pick my own pumpkin in the patch. We've done it like that ever since I can remember, and I don't want to stop just because more people are in a line before us. I'm staying."
"You just had to have my persuasive gene, didn't you?" Adam muttered under his breath, gazing at the other families near him. Suddenly, his eyes spotted a man and what looked like his sister. They were two families ahead of his own family, and they were happily chatting away, occasionally laughing and goofing around. He looked about his own age-maybe younger-and had the shiniest brown hair Adam had ever seen.
He was hot.
Ryan yawned. "Papa, can you sing a song to us while we wait?"
Adam shook his head laughing. "Ry, I can't sing in front of all these people. They'll recognize me. It's not like I wore this hat and sunglasses to look stylish, sweetie."
Jessie giggled. "That's for sure."
"But I want to hear a song," Ryan went on, "and you are the only person who can sing good to me."
"He's got ya' there, Daddy," Jessie agreed, "you know every song he likes.
With a groan, Adam knelt down and picked Ryan up, bringing him close and hesitantly checking to see if people were watching. Much to his luck, no one was, and the line had moved up a few families. In fact, the brown hair guy was in, searching with his blond sister playfully. I hope he listens to me.
"People say I'm the life of the party because I make a joke or two. Although I might be laughing loud and hearty, deep inside I am blue, yeah, yeah. So take a good look at my face, you'll see my smile looks out of place, if you look closer it's easy to trace the Tracks of My Tears."
Ryan smiled and cuddled closer to Adam, waving at the man at the gate as he let them into the pumpkin patch. Jessie tugged at Adam's coat eagerly.
"Daddy, can I go get my pumpkin now?"
Adam nodded and set Ryan down. "Watch your brother and don't let him leave your side! I'm going off to get my own somewhere else. Okay sweetie?"
Jessie smiled and dragged Ryan along with her, giggling and playing around with her brother in the cool grass. While his kids ran off, Adam went to try and find the cute brown haired guy. Suddenly, he felt a tap on the back. When he turned around, that blond girl he remembered seeing with the brown haired boy. She smiled brightly.
"Hi, um....I just wanted to say to you that me and my friend really think your singing was great. I mean, I know you were just singing for your kids, but...it was really good!"
Adam smiled. "Thank you very much. Tell your friend that, too."
The girl giggled. "Okay, you're gay, right?"
With a kind smile, Adam nodded.
"Well, my friend is gay too, and well.....he kind of has a crush on you."
"Then I guess we are on the same page, huh?"
The blond smiled happily. "Oh, he's gonna be thrilled about that! Would you mind coming and saying hi to him? He really would like, die."
Adam smirked. "Take me to him. I'd love to meet him."
"Follow me! Kris! Kris!"
Adam followed the blondie through some tall grass all the way up to 'Kris' and came face to face with him, seeing him blush immediately.
"Kris," the blondie said happily, "I want you to meet...uh..."
"Adam," he said kindly, staring Kris right in the eye. The blondie giggled.
"I'm gonna leave you two be. I'll go get a pumpkin for Kim myself. Talk to ya' later!"
Once she left, Kris sighed, leaning against a tree nearby.
"Katy is so embarrassing sometimes," he said quietly to himself. "I'm sorry she went and interrupted you and you family. I say one thing about you looking good and.........."
Adam smirked. "It's fine, Kris. My kids are off probably fighting over who's pumpkin is better or something ridiculous like that. It's not like I have much to do! Besides, guys as cute as you can take all the time you want from my time."
Kris blushed again. "I like your voice. Um...you sing good."
"Katy told me."
"I love that song," he shyly said, "it's one of my faves. It was ever since Adam Lambert sang it on American Idol a few years ago on the year he won. Katy, my friend, my mom Kim, and I all watched him and voted like, every week after he sang that."
Adam smiled. I guess I could go on with this for a little while longer. Besides, I like making him blush.
"I think he was great, too. Really worked his butt off to sing and look that good on TV. What a guy, huh?"
Kris nodded and looked down at his feet. Adam took this as a chance to ask him out.
"Hey Kris....would you like to go out sometime?"
A bright smile graced Kris's face. "I'd love that. Maybe we could go to-"
"DADDY!"
Suddenly, Jessie and Ryan came running up to their father, excited looks on both of them.
"Daddy, we found the BEST pumpkins EVER over by this one bush. We hid them so no one can get them, but we need you to help pick them up. Besides, Ryan can't pick up a stinking pumpkin to save his life."
"Can too!" Ryan shouted back. "I just couldn't because your big head was blocking the sun's energy I use to be strong like Superman!"
"Superman isn't real, Ryan."
"Is too."
"Is not!"
"Is too!"
"Is-"
"HEY," Adam snapped, making the two be quiet instantly and face him. "Stop fighting. Now go to the pumpkins and wait for me there. I'll be with you guys in a minute."
Jessie looked at Kris and then rolled her baby blue eyes. "Oh great, you're trying to replace Dad again."
Kris turned and looked to Adam confused. "Who?"
Adam sighed. "Run along, Jess, and take your brother with you."
"I'm telling grandma, though!" Jessie yelled as she and Ryan left the two alone. Adam sighed.
"I knew this would come up," he said quietly. "My...husband died a few years ago in a car crash. Jess was 4 and Ryan just was born a few weeks before. Basically, every time I try to date someone, Jessie gets all defensive of him and makes me feel utterly guilty for even trying. I hate it."
Kris frowned. "Awww....she sounds like she just misses him. I heard somewhere that kids who lose a parent are usually paranoid about not having them be replaced. She might be like that."
Adam sighed and quickly wiped a small tear that had fallen from his eye before he continued.
"I guess so. Gosh, I just feel so...helpless at raising them. I'm not meeting their expectations, I'm not being able to give them things they should be able to have and enjoy, I'm starting to mess up my music career-"
Kris suddenly gasped, covering his mouth immediately in shock.
"Oh my gosh, you're Adam Lambert! The singer! I'm sorry that I totally just ignored you just then it's just that.....oh my gosh, I said all that about how I adored you on TV....oh what an idiot...."
For a moment, Adam chuckled.
"You caught me."
"Oh I'm sorry," Kris said, "I'm being totally insensitive. Screw all that for a moment. Adam, you just are still adjusting to living on your own. Two kids can be a burden. Gosh, I feel so sorry for you."
Adam sighed. "It's fine. Besides, I usually have people that look after them when I'm gone or something. I make it work."
"Would you mind if I helped?"
I'm going to give those kids giant bowls of ice cream later for this!
"I'd love that. Besides, I could use another cute pair of hands around the house....."
Kris blushed again, covering his face with his hands and letting out a loud groan.
"MY GOSH, WHY CAN'T I STOP BLUSHING?"
Adam giggled and patted his back. "It's fine, Kris. Cute, also. Well....I better go and see if my kids have killed themselves yet. Here's my number," he said, handing Kris a small paper with his number, "call me at noon tomorrow. I'll see if we can use some help then..."
Kris nodded and graciously smiled. "Thanks, um...I will call! Uh....see ya'?"
With a nod, Adam smiled, kissed Kris's cheek quickly, and then headed off in search of his two crazy children, leaving Kris to stare on all dumbstruck like a teen after his or her first kiss. He ran as fast as he could towards where he remembered seeing Jessie drag Ryan before. Soon, he came up near a big bush where Jessie and Ryan were playing around with a small grasshopper that sadly had chosen to lay under that bush this fine day. Adam smiled.
"Will you two leave the poor thing alone?"
Jessie raised her eyebrow while her little brother backed away from the small bug obediently. "But what if I don't want to?"
"Do you want to watch your brother eat mint ice cream just covered in warm chocolate syrup and little pumpkin sprinkles while you sit with nothing?"
With a look of horror, Jessie immediately abandoned the bug and flew to her father's side. Adam smirked, taking his daughter's hand as he walked over to where the pumpkins sat. Seeing the two big pumpkins his kids managed to find, Adam became impressed. They were big, plump, and looked full as heck of seeds.
"Wow guys," he said with a smile, "you both really did a good job at picking your pumpkins! I can't wait to seed all the seeds inside them tomorrow!"
"And I can't wait to have that boy over to help us!" Ryan exclaimed, barely missing his sister's slap she gave in response.
"Be nice, Jess, Papa picks good people. He said every boy he brings home loves us, no matter what, and I like people loving me, so don't be a meany to them!"
Jessie frowned, crossing her arms in frustration and snuggling into her golden hair.
"Of course you love everyone. You're just like Daddy."
Adam smirked and picked up the two pumpkins on the ground into his strong, freckled hands.
"And Ryan's good for being like that. Being mean isn't nice, and you know it Jessie. Kris, that boy, is going to come over tomorrow to help us carve pumpkins. Sound good?"
Ryan jumped up clapping, running happily through the tall grass as his sister dragged behind Adam sulking.
"He's a good one, baby girl," Adam whispered to his young daughter when he noticed a tear on her face, "I know he would've approved."
"We'll see."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The next morning, the Lambert kitchen was full of the smell of warm pancakes, juicy bacon, chocolate milk, and the sound of the small family chatting happily around the table.
"I can't wait to show my friends my new Star Wars costume, Papa! I bet they'll be sooooo jealous!" he said eagerly, snapping a few bites of his bacon between breaths. Adam grinned at his little boy and ruffled up his smooth, dark brown hair, giggling when Ryan groaned and began to fix it.
"You'll be the talk of the town. How about you, Jess?"
"Huh?" Jessie said, popping out of some reverie she had previously been in.
Adam repeated, "How about you, Jess? Are you excited about showing your outfit to your friends?"
Jessie sighed. "I guess."
Ryan gasped and looked at his father. "She's not excited to be Madonna, Papa!!!!!! Are you sure she's related to us?"
"Shut up, twerp!"
"Why should I, meany?"
"Kids," Adam said patiently, trying to keep hold of the situation before it went haywire, "calm down and eat."
"No! Not when you are trying to replace MY Papa!"
Ryan looked at Jessie confused. "Huh? Jess, he's our Papa."
"NOT YOURS, TWERP! MY PAPA DIED! 'BOUT TIME YOU FIGURE THAT OUT SINCE DADDY WANTS TO FORGET HIM!"
Adam stared at his daughter with his mouth wide open. Why the heck did she just tell him? Is my daughter TRYING to make my life harder? Angrily staring at her father, Jessie got up from the table, pushed her chair in roughly, and sped off to her room, her long golden locks swaying fiercely as she sped down the hallway.
"JESSIE, GET BACK OVER HERE!"
"NO!" Jessie screamed through tears, slamming her door hard enough that Adam could feel the house shake. He then turned to his little boy who was innocently looking up at him with his big eyes.
"Sweetie.....can you go to your room for a minute and play?"
"I had another Papa?"
Adam sighed and nodded. "Yes sweetie. He left to where your fishy went a little while ago just after you were born. I...I didn't want you to know about him."
Ryan looked down. "Oh. Um, Papa?"
"Yes sweetie?"
"Do you need a hug?"
Adam smiled at his son and opened his arms wide, engulfing him tightly in his arms, feeling those two small arms wrap around his neck in that way he liked it.
"Papa?"
"Yeah?"
"Was he anything like me?"
Adam sighed and pulled back to see his boy's face. "He had the same hair as you. He also was a big, strong boy just like you who wasn't afraid to get a bit dirty or prettied up. He had Jessie's eyes and her smile. He looks like both of you."
Ryan gave Adam a big smile. "Is that bo-I mean, is that Kris like him at all?"
"I think so," Adam said, nuzzling his son close to him, "I also think that your sister will like him when she gets to know him."
"I hope so. He looked nice."
A big smile appeared on Adam's face, and he gently placed a kiss on his son's forehead.
"I love you, Ryan. You're the best little boy a Papa could have."
Ryan kissed Adam's cheek. "I love you too, Papa. And you are the best Papa a Ryan could have."
Suddenly stopping the father-son moment, Adam's cell rang. Ryan hopped off of his father's leg, grabbed the phone, and gave it to him with a proud smile. Adam thanked him and then answered.
"Hello?"
"Hey," the cute voice on the other line said, "it's Kris."
Adam smiled and hugged his son close. "Hey Kris. Um...why are you calling?"
"I know I was supposed to wait for you to call," he replied dorky, "but I, uh, kind of um...couldn't stop thinking about you."
So freakin cute. "Aww, no need to be embarrassed. Anyway, you kind of called at the perfect time. Jessie is having a little crisis and well....I may go mad if this goes on like it is."
Kris laughed. "I'll be on my way. Just keep your hair on!"
Adam and Ryan giggled. "My son and I apparently will try our hardest to! See ya'."
"See ya'!"
------------------------------------------------------
"Jessie, please open up this door."
"NO!"
"Please honey, Kris will be over any second! We're gonna carve pumpkins and make pumpkin seeds and maybe play outside a bit.."
"I DON'T WANNA'!"
Grumbling, Adam stepped away from the door and plopped down on the couch in his living room next to his son with a great sigh. Ryan giggled and started playing with his father's hair.
"Need rest, Papa?"
Adam nodded. "I need someone to tame the lion in there."
"Yeah," Ryan agreed, "she's being a little crazy. I know she misses her old Papa, but why wouldn't she like a new one? It's not like he'd be angry that you found someone new. Besides, didn't grandma say that when a person is sent to replace someone who died, the person up in the sky wants them to have them?"
He's so smart. "Grandma is 100% right. It's just a little hard for Jessie, though, because she was so attached to him. Just like you are to me."
Ryan nodded intently. "I would be like Jessie if you had died. I'd be worse, though. You're too good of a Papa."
"Aww," Adam said, hugging his son tight, "you are so cute."
Suddenly jolting them from their conversation, the door bell rang. Thank God he's here! He ran as fast as he could to the front door, Ryan at his heels, and opened the door with a big smile. Kris was dressed handsomely in a nice brown turtleneck and dark skinny jeans that hugged his legs perfectly. Kris blushed.
"Ummm......hi Adam."
"Hi Kris!"
Kris giggled. "Um...you're wearing a robe..."
Adam froze and looked down at his outfit. He is soooooo lucky that clothes don't turn me on that much.
"Oh my gosh.......I'll um....be right back....um...yeah."
Kris again giggled, walking inside as Adam sprinted away embarrassed to where his room was supposed to be. He walked towards the kitchen when all of a sudden, Adam's little boy came up to him and grinned.
"Hi, I'm Ryan. You are that Kris guy my Papa was talking about, right?"
"Yes," Kris replied with a smirk, "I'm Kris. Can you show me where your sister is?"
Ryan nodded, grabbed Kris's hand, and then dragged him to the front of Jessie's door, knocking quickly on it before running away and abandoning Kris. Kris heard a few rustles of somebody in the room and then heard Jessie yell in a muffled tone "go away!" through the door.
"Can't you let me in?"
"Kris?" Jessie said confused, "Why are you here and why should I even open the door for a person that is trying to replace my Papa?"
Kris sighed. "Your father asked me to come over and because I'm not trying anything against your Papa. Can we please talk about this, Jessie?"
Jessie walked up to the door and opened the door slowly, her little face stained with tears and her eyes all red and puffy. She allowed Kris to come in, but gave him an angry glare as he sat down on her bed.
"Sweetie, why do you think your daddy keeps dating people even though your papa is gone?"
"He wants to forget my Papa by getting a new guy."
"Now," Kris said to Jessie calmly, "you've known your father your whole life. Do you think he'd actually try to forget your papa?"
Jessie shrugged and then wiped her face. "He barely cried when he died. He always was trying to make me not cry and he was being kept up by baby Ryan. I don't know why he didn't, though, since he's aways telling us to not hide our feelings. Really, the only time I remember him crying about Papa was the day that he died at night time. I had gotten up for a glass of water because my throat was dry from my crying and when I passed his room, I heard him in his room just crying like a baby. I know it wasn't right to listen....but it made me feel a bit better to know he missed him just like me."
Kris wrapped his arm around Jessie and held her close. "When did your father first date?"
"A year after he died," Jessie mumbled angrily. "His name was....Greg? He was sweet to me and loved being around Ryan....but he just wasn't a part of my family. I ended up breaking them up because I started to hate him so much. It happens all the time."
"Were you going to do that with me?"
Jessie let a small smile show. "Maybe. I actually like you better than a lot of them. You look pretty cute and my Daddy likes you a lot."
Kris smirked. "And I think you look adorable and I like your Daddy a lot, also. You know, my momma had a little saying that whenever a person dies, they usually send someone to help ease the pain and make the people affected get back to normal."
"My grandma said that before," Jessie admitted with a small smile.
"So, are you going to believe it?"
"...You know what? I think it's worth a go. Thanks Kris."
Kris smiled and hugged Jessie tight, seeing Adam's smiling and tear-streaked face at the door watching on.
"No problem, kid."
He then let go and looked back to him, Jessie also looking on. Adam sighed.
"Sweetheart.....how come you never told me any of that?"
Jessie shrugged into her curls. "I don't know.......I never thought it would help anything."
Adam shook his head in disbelief as he sat down on the other side of Jessie, wrapping his arm around her. His little girl looked up at him and then hugged him tight with a warm and embarrassing hug that made Adam feel so loved.
"I'm sorry I never was nice to your boyfriends, Daddy. I guess I was just being a little stubborn or something. I love you."
With a tear filled smile to Kris, Adam placed a gentle kiss on his daughter's forehead and replied.
"I love you too, Jessie. Thank you so much for giving Kris a chance."
"You're welcome very much, Daddy. "
"Well if you guys are done with hugging everyone," Ryan said at the door with a cute smile, "I'd like to go carve my pumpkin!"
Adam giggled and looked to Kris and Jessie. "You guys ready to carve some pumpkins?"
Jessie giggled and nodded. Kris got up and grabbed her hand. "I'd say yes!"
"Well, let's go!"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
An hour later, the kids were sitting on the couch eating freshly made pumpkin seeds watching the Peanuts' Halloween special and Adam and Kris were just cleaning up the giant mess the pumpkins made.
"I never thought I'd say this, but pumpkin guts are more gross than a dirty diaper."
Kris laughed and picked up some in his hand. "Oh really?"
Adam nodded as he picked up some. "It's disgusting."
Suddenly, surprising him completely, Kris threw the pumpkin guts in his hand at Adam, hitting him smack dab on the head, getting it all in his hair. Adam gasped, making Ryan and Jessie turn around to see what was going on. Jessie began to giggle.
"I put 30 goldfish on Kris winning."
"40 on Papa winning."
"You're on."
All of a sudden, a pumpkin guts war broke out amongst the two grown men, pumpkin guts getting in their hair, their clothes, and practically everywhere possible while Jessie and Ryan watched on contently with confused looks on their faces. The orange gooey stuff soon covered the whole kitchen table and Adam and Kris completely. Finally, all the orange goop was all gone from where the papers were laid down for to keep the table clean and was now on Adam and Kris, who were laughing hysterically at each other's faces. Jessie rolled her eyes.
"Are you guys done getting all messy?"
Smirking at each other, Adam and Kris both grabbed a piece of the orange goop and threw it at her, laughing along with Ryan as she looked herself over, horrified to death.
"If you are always gonna' throw gross stuff at my sister and make her freak out, you can stay in our family forever!"
Kris giggled and looked up to Adam, who suddenly looked deep in thought. After a second of reasoning, Adam brought Kris towards him and kissed him quick, stunning Kris into pure shock and making his heart flutter out of his chest.
"How would you like to do that?"
"Huh?" Kris barely said, his voice weak and limp. Adam hugged him close again and smiled his bright smile.
"Stay with us forever," Adam said excitedly, "be my man."
Kris nearly choked on air. "You mean.....you want......be your....."
Adam smirked. "Marry me, Kristopher."
Not being able to even get air, Kris let out some weird gurgle of a noise and then sighed. Adam giggled and kissed his cheek.
"Is that a yes?"
Kris nodded frantically with a giant smile, being attacked by a big gooey Adam Lambert in a gigantic bear hug and was smothered by tons of kisses.
"I love you, Adam," Kris finally managed to say.
"That's Adam Lambert-Allen to you, mister!" he said with a giggle.
Who knew that pumpkins could complete a family?
~The End~
Thanks to the wonderful groffiction for this amazing banner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A/N: Well, after last chapter, I have a LOT of stuff to make up for. I'm giving you this in hopes you may forgive me =) Oh, and I suggest you listen to the songs while reading! =) Let the show go on!
A few hours had passed, and time had healed some wounds. Kris had dealt with kissing Adam now, and according to his new therapist the cops had told him to go to, he wasn't too far to getting back to normal. Kris was allowed to go home once the doctors did a quick check up on him, and the whole time, Adam stayed by his side. It was as if God somehow was giving him an apology for what happened by giving him Adam to work through this with.
When he was allowed to leave, Kris went to Adam's house, scared that his house still was un-safe, and chose to sleep on the couch in the living room. Not that he didn't trust Adam deep down inside, but he still didn't really feel safe with anyone. When Adam did sleep, he slept in his room quietly, occasionally peeking out his door to see if Kris was okay or not. Mostly, he just wanted to see Kris. Very much so, in fact, and it was killing him deep inside about it. Finally, the want and desire to at least talk to him grew too much. Adam gently woke Kris up, seeing those big brown eyes look confused at him.
"Hey," Adam said hesitantly.
"Uh, hey," Kris replied, yawning a bit.
"I just wanted to see if you were sleeping okay. No nightmares?"
Kris smiled and shook his head. "No nightmares."
"Any pain?"
"Well....as long as I don't lay on my back I'm fine."
Adam sighed and cautiously ran his hand through Kris's hair, making him moan a tiny bit at the touch.
"I miss you in my bed next to me. You know, knowing how much Ben cares, I think he probably put Crystal and her loon into one of those rubber rooms in a straight jacket with a freakin teddy bear or something to keep them company."
Kris giggled. "Wouldn't that be awesome? I hope they can't talk either! For like, 20 years! Yeah, they can't talk for twenty years and can't even move! Ha!"
Adam smirked. Yeah, he noticed how Kris perfectly dogged his comment about missing him, but that was expected. Besides, he couldn't care less at the moment after seeing Kris all giddy like that. He just needs to relax and let his guard down. That'll be when my Kris is okay. Baby steps, right? That's what the doctor told you.
"Hehe, that'd be perfect, Kris. Hey, wanna' watch TV? I'm sure there's some weirdo cartoon we could watch and laugh about on somewhere."
"I'd love that! Let's see what's on."
Snatching the remote from the side table, Kris began to flip through channels, trying as best as he could to ignore Adam's accidental sexy looks he was given as each channel flipped by. The channel then ended up on a movie one that was just finishing up credits for a science fiction movie from the 60's. Down at the bottom of the screen, Kris noticed that the next movie was Titanic. He nudged Adam's arm gently to get his attention.
"Kris, what?"
"Do you mind watching the Titanic with me?"
Adam sighed. "I hate that movie."
"Why? It's a classic!"
"And it makes me cry like heck whenever I watch it. Seriously Kris, I don't want to have my heart strings tugged any more than they have in the past 24 hours."
Kris yawned and leaned on Adam's shoulder contently, sprawling out his legs along the edge of the couch with a sigh. The movie then began, causing Adam to advert his eyes as quick as he could.
"Awww," Kris said in a bit of sadness, "it's okay. Besides.....you are being there for me, so I'll be there for you while we watch. Okay?"
Oh, I just want to eat him up! WAIT, no thoughts like that until Kris is better. C'mon Lambert, let him be close to you while you watch. Worst you can do is cry.
"Fine," Adam replied with an unchanged face, "I'll watch it. But I need you to be there beside me or else I'm fleeing." Laying down a bit more towards Adam, Kris yawned and cuddled up close to him. The movie went on then, and the two eventually fell asleep in each other's arms.
Maybe, things will be better soon.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
"Oh hell no."
"Oh hell yes Crystal," Warren, Ben's father said as he dragged her and her loon along behind him up to a bright yellow wall with one lone door. Crystal and Philip-the loon-both had heavy and thick hand cuffs wrapped tightly around their wrists and bright orange jail outfits that made them both look horrible.
Clearly, a bright yellow room seemed to be the LEAST of their worries.
Much to her dislike, Warren led the two into the bright yellow wall's door and then sat them down in two chairs. The room was cold and the look on Warren's face was NOT promising. Suddenly, two people quickly came up behind them and tied both of their hands together in separate strips of a tight and stick fabric. Then, a few more people came up from behind and wrapped the two in that same fabric, only around their body and arms. Finally, they wrapped their legs, leaving Crystal and Philip completely immobilized for once. Crystal shrieked angrily at Warren as he smirked at her from a distance.
"Oh Crystal, you'll never learn, will you? Every time you hurt Kris or Adam, it just gives us more of a reason to detain you. You've crossed the line this time. It's about time you paid your price, escape free, for once. So, you'll be living in a little 'room' for a while. It's padded, it's yellow, and it's so guarded that you will have NO way of escaping. I hope you enjoy."
Crystal looked to him in fear. "Oh PLEASE no, sir, I DON'T want to go in there! Neither does Philip. Right Philip?"
"Yeah I-"
"Shut up, Philip," Crystal snapped back, eyes narrow and deadly. Warren smirked again and watched happily as the two were literally carried off through another door into the bright and padded room against their will.
Justice now was served.
Hopefully.
----------------------------------------------------------
The morning came with many promises. Kris would be another day healed, Brad and the gang would all be waiting for them, and they could both get a chance to vent their feelings in song during music. The day would be good as long as nothing crazy would happen.
Leila woke up bright and early at 6 am and went straight to the kitchen for coffee. Suddenly, taking her attention away from the coffee, she heard noises coming from the living room. Curiously, she walked out to the living room, seeing some old western movie on the television screen blaring on and on. Her gaze then traveled up to the couch, seeing Adam laying down in almost a sitting position with Kris lovingly clutched to his side. Leila smiled warmly and proud at the two.
Adam had been doing so good with Kris in his attempt to make him feel better. It just warmed her heart to know that her son was really showing maturity and love towards such an issue as this. He really was impressive.
Once again, Leila didn't want to wake them up.
"Sweetie," she mumbled quietly to Adam as she gently shook him up, "it's morning time. Time for you and Kristopher here to get a move on!"
Adam stirred a bit and then opened his big blue eyes in her direction, a small smile appearing as his mind woke. He then looked down at Kris's sleeping silhouette beside him and gave a really big smile. Carefully, he bent down and placed a kiss on his forehead. Kris stirred and, just like Adam, opened his big brown eyes.
"Hey Kris," Adam said with that same toothy smile, "you ready to go to school?"
"That's like asking if I'm ready to die, Adam," Kris murmured sleepily into Adam's leg, "of course not."
Adam giggled and ruffled Kris's hair up, getting up slowly and heading towards his room. Kris frowned and followed him, only to be pulled back by Leila.
"Can we talk, sweetheart?"
"Of course, Leila," Kris replied in his polite southern drawl, "you can ask me anything!"
Leila nodded. "Well.......I just want you and Adam not to....well.......you know....rush..."
Kris snorted. "Adam's too sweet to do that. He still hesitates a bit when we kiss. He's being a gentleman. Also.....I wouldn't let him if he tried anything."
"I hope not," Leila replied in a caring tone, "because if he does, which you WILL tell me if he does, I will kill him. I swear Kris, I will."
"Leila, I will tell you, even though I doubt it will happen. He didn't want to watch Titanic last night because he didn't want to make me feel any more sad after what happened. I'm pretty sure that he wouldn't try to hurt me. But, I will take your words dearly, Leila. Oh, and um, thanks for letting me sleep over."
"No problem," Leila said with a smile. "Now go get ready."
"Will do!" Kris said happily, running away to Adam's room as fast as he could, leaving Leila in the dust behind him. He flung open the door and found Adam putting some eyeliner on in a cute outfit. Kris smiled and sat up on the counter.
"I like your outfit today, Adam."
Adam winked at Kris and then kept on with his make-up. His black skinny jeans were hugging his long legs perfectly today and his shirt and blazer were very nice. He had a dark black under shirt that was long sleeved and a dark gray blazer over it that complemented his outfit nicely.
"Do you have a song for today?"
"Of course," Adam replied, "do you?"
"Yeah, but I'm just really curious about your song."
Adam smirked and walked out of the bathroom. "It'll be a good one, don't worry! Now go get dressed and ready. The bus comes in like, ten minutes."
Kris nodded and walked obediently to find something to wear.
I can't wait to find out what that song is..........
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The day went as any other, really, and Kris was almost treated like royalty by Brad and Ben, who got him his lunch, carried his books, and helped him with his work in study hall. Ben was the most helping of the two because of all the tormenting stares and taunting bullies he took care of throughout the day. He almost seemed like the perfect body guard.
By the time Music did come, Kris was almost ready to explode from all the waiting he'd done to hear what song Adam had planned. It had been eating him from the inside out since that morning, and now, he was oh-so-ready to hear it. He wanted to know Adam's feelings at the moment. He wanted to know how he felt about all that had happened.
He wanted to see Adam's guard down.
They walked in together in front of the class and went into two seats up front, knowing they'd be the only ones singing after missing the original date. Yeah, Ben missed a day also, but he had decided to wait a while to perform that one in attempt to not make Kris uncomfortable around him or something, so it was inevitably Adam and Kris who went that day.
The teacher settled the class and introduced Kris first, allowing him to go and sing before Adam. Kris sighed and got up grudgingly to the front and grabbed an electric guitar. Still sore, he sat down carefully.
"Um....well, after what happened two days ago.....I really have some unfinished business to take care of. I have a person who I REALLY think deserves the worst right now, and so I'd like to sing a little song about her called 'Better Than Revenge'. It at times goes into a few different points of view, but I think you'll get the picture. Oh...and the chorus includes some advice this one guy told me a while back." Kris winked at Adam and went on. "So, I hope you all enjoy."
Plugging in a CD and grabbing the guitar, Kris began, his emotions running wild.
"Now go stand in the corner and think about what you did."
Kris played the rock intro and then sang.
"The story starts when it was hot and it was summer and I had it all, I had him right the way I wanted him. She came along, got him alone and let's hear the applause, she took him faster than you can say sabottage. I never saw it coming, wouldn't have suspected it. I underestimated just who I was dealing with! She had to know the pain was beating on me like a drum, she underestimated just who she was stealing from!"
Kris noticed Adam's surprised face and got really fired up. He jumped into the chorus with a fierce furry to him.
"She's not a saint, and she's not what you think, she's an actress, whoa! She's better known for the things that she does on the mattress, whoa! Soon she's gonna find stealing other people's toys on the playground won't make you many friends! She should keep in mind, she should keep in mind there's nothing I do Better Than Revenge!"
Everyone in the room was amazed by Kris's performance. He was totally flawless and super confident instead of being scared and shaky.
It was his turn to kick ass.
"She looks at life like it's a party and she's on the list. She looks at me like I'm a trend and she's 'so over it'. I think her ever present frown is a little 'troubling'. She thinks I'm psycho because I like to rhyme her names with things but sophistication isn't what you wear or who you know! Or pushing people down, it gets you where you want you to go! I wouldn't tell you how to impress so you know it's up to me, but no amount of vintage dresses gives you dignity!"
This is the best he's ever sang......I'm so proud of him! Sing your heart out, baby! Tell it as if she's right in front of you!
The bridge came up, and Kris's eyes shinned as he sang, his heart pouring into the song with strong emotion.
"I'm just another thing for you to roll your eyes at honey, you might have him but haven't you heard? I'm just another thing for you to roll your eyes at honey, you might have him but I always get the last-"
Again, guitar filled the room, and Kris jammed out, his guard completely going down and the inner performer breaking out from him. Adam couldn't stop smiling.
"Whoaaaaaaaaaaaa! She's not a saint, and she's not what you think, she's an actress, whoa! She's better known for the things that she does on the mattress, whoa! Soon she's gonna find stealing other people's toys on the playground won't make you many friends! She should keep in mind, she should keep in mind there's nothing I do Better Than Revenge! Do you still feel like you know what you're doing cause' I don't think you do, oh! Do you still feel like you know what you're doing? I don't think you do, I don't think you do! Let's hear the applause. Show me how much better you are! You just need some applause 'cause you're so much better! She took him faster than you could say sabotage."
And then, with one last strum of the guitar, the song ended, and the room erupted into cheers and applause for Kris as he bowed and smiled at Adam. Adam was so proud of Kris. Not only did he break his boundaries for singing, he completely showed his true feelings and his true performing self. Kris's heart pounded in his chest fast as he went to take his seat next to Adam and went even faster as he sat and received a kiss on the cheek from his love.
"I'm so proud of you, mister."
"Go make me proud, Lambert, and then we can celebrate."
Jumping out of his seat with the help of a push from Kris, Adam got up and walked up to the stool, sitting down and grabbed an acoustic guitar.
"Hey everyone," he said with a smile, "as you just heard, my Kris totally kicked that sorry loser's butt with that song and made me so proud. He really has been a truly awesome person after all that's happened, and I kind of want to sing a song about how awesome he is. So, here's my song, 'Enchanted', for Kris. By the way, taught myself a bit of the guitar part, the rest I just kind of looked up online."
Kris giggled and then watched as Adam put in a CD and then began to strum a steady beat on the guitar.
"There I was again tonight, forcing laughter, faking smiles, same ol' tired lonely place. Walls of insincerity, shifting eyes and vacancy vanished when I saw your face. And all I can say is it was enchanting to meet you."
Kris noticed a small tear forming in the corner of one of Adam's eyes and fell head-first in complete love for him, clutching his little ring tight to his hand as he continued.
"Your eyes whispered how we met, across the room your silhouette starts to make its way to me. The playful conversation starts, counter all your quick remarks like passing notes in secrecy. And it was enchanting to meet you. All I can say is I was Enchanted to meet you."
The music suddenly picked up, and the chorus came with a blaze, Adam's emotions really now showing.
"This night is sparkling, don't you let it go! I wanna' strut, blushing all the way home! I'll stand forever wondering if you knew I was Enchanted to meet you!!!!"
The fast music ended and went back to the sweet sound of Adam and the guitar.
"The lingering question kept me up, 2 am, who do you love? I wondered 'till I'm wide awake. And now I'm pacing back and forth, wishing you were at my door, I would open up and you would say hey! It was enchanting to meet you. All I know is I was Enchanted to meet you!"
The chorus came again, and everyone was captivated once again.
"This night is sparkling, don't you let it go! I wanna' strut, blushing all the way home! I'll stand forever wondering if you knew! This night is flawless, don't you let it go. I wanna' strut, prancing out all alone! I'll spend forever wondering if you knew I was Enchanted to meet you!"
The music in the background went to a guitar solo, and Adam played on his acoustic guitar along with it, emotion just dripping from his face as he sang. Kris was entranced by his beauty.
"This is me praying that this was the very first page, not where the story might end. My thoughts will echo your name until I see you again! These are the words I held back as I was leaving to see I was Enchanted to meet you. Please don't be in love with some one else. Please don't have somebody waiting on you. Please don't be in love with some one else. Please don't have somebody waiting on you."
And then the chorus came in all it's glory and left everyone in awe of Adam, including Kris, as his guard came down and all his emotion came to the crowd.
""This night is sparkling, don't you let it go! I wanna' strut, blushing all the way home! I'll stand forever wondering if you knew! This night is flawless, don't you let it go. I wanna' strut, prancing out all alone! I'll spend forever wondering if you knew I was Enchanted to meet you! Please don't be in love with some one else. Please don't have somebody waiting on you..."
And the the song ended, leaving the crowd once again to cheer and applaud the beautiful singer as he bowed and got hugged by Kris, who ran straight from his seat all the way to Adam.
"I love you," he said through tears, "I'll never leave you ever. I promise Adam. I love you SO much!"
Adam smiled through tears of his own and hugged tighter, placing his head on Kris's shoulder and leaving a small kiss on his neck.
"I love you too, baby. Forever and always." Letting out a small sob, Adam went on, his heart believing his words.
"We'll get through this. I promise."

ETA: There is one scene were...I mention rape. JUST to warn you!
{Flash Forward: August 18th that year}
One day.
They only had one day before school started back up. But after a long summer together, why should they be sad about it? They had a crap load of sex (seriously, that's just expected), they spent all the time they could around each other, they constantly had days at the beach-Adam even got some sort of tan after a while-, and there was no homework to delay their time together. Yet one thing was kind of nagging them.
Bullies were coming. Screw what the teacher said about scared little freshmen. They weren't to be fooled.
If there were no bullies coming, then how come last year they were bullied? Huh?
Even with the promises of Ben, Allison, and Brad to protect them, the bullies didn't seem any less scary.
Who's to say that they wouldn't be worse this year?
Who's to say that they would even have some nice people?
Who's to say this year was going to be better?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Oh, you, Mr. Lambert, are sooooooooooo sexy to me right now. Screw waking up early, make love to me."
Adam laughed from under Kris's grasp. "One, thank you. Two, even if we screw waking up early, you still have to be home by midnight. Your parent's orders."
"Do you want me or do you want to be a goodie-goodie? You're choice."
"What happened to you this past summer?"
Kris smirked and nuzzled close to Adam's chest in that cute way he always did.
"I learned from my master?"
"You are truly something. Just look at you, being all fiesty and on top of me. Summer's gotten the best of you."
"I want you to stop talking and let me kiss those new freckles," Kris grumbled, kissing a few lazily that were on his chest. Adam then groaned, pushing Kris off and shaking his head no, but that was not to stop Kris's attempts. Kris got back on top of Adam and got close to Adam's ear, a dangerous look to his face.
"I'm three seconds away from just doing this myself, Lambert."
"Fine."
Kris giggled as he was rolled on his back, his lover smiling at his ever clever self.
"Love you, sweetie."
"Love you too, annoying SOB."
"WHAT?"
Adam smirked and silenced Kris with his lips. "Shush and enjoy our last summer night."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One year.
It'd been one year since Kris had moved from good-ol' Conway to LA. It'd been one year since Kris had stumbled upon sitting next to Adam on the bus.
It'd been one year since true love was found.
Kris got on the bus that day like any other, his brother still waiting for the new Senior's bus to come to their house, and gazed around at the kids. He spotted Casey drawing a few pictures on her new notebook absentmindedly and Ben gazing out the window with a bored look. Then, finally, he saw him. Yes, Kris had seen Adam only a few hours before, but that didn't stop this moment from being as big as it was. He was sitting down in their usual seat listening to his iPod, totally unaware of Kris's presence. Kris walked right up to him, tapped him on the shoulder, and then smiled. Adam smiled back, his blue eyes glimmering brightly in the morning sun.
"Is this seat taken?" Kris said playfully.
Adam shook his head and shoved his backpack on the floor, patting the empty spot next to him.
"Not at all, cutie."
"Good morning, Adam."
"'Morning, Kris."
"I love you."
"I love you, too."
"Ready for school?"
"Hell no."
"Want to make out before we get to school?"
"Hell yes."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
By the end of the bus ride, Jamie, Gabby, Allison, and Brad all had made it on the bus, all smiling and excited. The moment everyone got up to get off, the group of friends all seemed to meet up outside, regardless of how much they knew each other. Even Ben was welcomed into the group even though Brad still wasn't too trustful of him.Then Adam and Kris walked off the bus hand-in-hand, hugging everyone hello the minute they stepped on to the concrete. It looked like they'd not seen each other in years, but the group didn't care.
For once, they weren't the lowest of the low.
The group walked in and saw many unfamiliar faces in the halls. There were tons of freshmen this year apparently. Tons of very short, young freshmen that seemed totally unlike them when they were freshmen. Heck, they all looked like they could be in 5th grade, but nevertheless, the group moved on, picking up their new schedules and dispersing to their respective mini-groups. That is, everyone except for Ben, who had no little group in this friend clump. He was new to them. An outcast of some sort.
"Hey Ben," Adam said cheerfully, "you can hang with us until you get a few friends. I'm sure you'll find a few of them you'll become friends with, but you're welcome to stay with us until then."
Ben smiled and nodded, sitting on the bench Adam and Kris were sitting on and turning his attention to the schedule in front of him.
"Homeroom first period," Adam mumbled to Kris.
"Math...advanced next period," Kris replied, giving a slight nudge with his elbow to Adam, acknowledging his change from normal to advanced math this year. Thank goodness, we're in the same classes now. No more weirdo football players who think chicken feet are a good variable to use in an equation.
"Science next," Ben added, earning a few nods from the two boys.
"Social Studies fourth period."
"Lunch next," Ben said with a funny grin on his face. He isn't that bad when he's not trying to plot to kill you, Kris thought to himself as he looked at the next period.
"We have English after that."
Adam looked at the next one. "I have Spanish next. Kris?"
"Spanish," he confidently said.
"Latin," Ben said a bit disappointed. Adam and Kris looked at him, feeling almost worried about him.
"That is hard you know," Kris said to Ben, "the teacher is a wack-job."
Ben smirked. "I know Latin by heart. My grandmother speaks it only. I've picked it up. This should be a piece of cake for me, regardless of the teacher."
Poor soul. "Okay," Adam replied, smiling at the next subject. "Last period is Music. Praise the Lord, it's the last class this year!"
"Oh YES!" Kris shouted in glee. "Thank God."
Ben raised his eyebrow at the two. "Why are you guys so happy it's the last class?"
"Because it's the best class and always is fun," Adam replied. "Plus, we won't get any crap for what we sing afterwords! Yes!"
Setting down his schedule, Ben laughed and rolled his eyes at the two.
"Ya'll are crazy."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Attention class," their music teacher announced, "we are going to get rid of what they call 'sexual tension' this first week because we are all doing very sexy songs. That means that I'm expecting a very sexy song from every single one of you guys, and it must be good. Anyway, I suggest you people get started today! Oh, and may I say to you all, you can write one. I'm fine with that. Now go!"
Adam smirked and pulled Kris's chair close to his-enough that their arms were touching-and gave him a very deep kiss, tongue and all, before beginning. Kris looked at him, bewildered.
"Now what exactly was that for?" he said innocently.
"Uh...inspiration?"
Kris laughed. "You need no inspiration. Now are you singing Whole Lotta Love or what?"
Adam shook his head. "A song I head on the radio not too long ago. Let me just warn you," he said with an evil smile, "I'm gonna' play a little Love Game."
His eyes wide, Kris instantly realized what song his lover was going to do and nearly died at the spot. "No freakin way, Adam. Really?"
That devil smile gazed back at him in a taunting fashion that oddly ever appeared. "You think I can't win? Or do you think you can't win against me?"
"I'm thinking I won't make it through that performance that's what I'm thinking. You do know the lyrics to that song, right?"
"Yes," Adam said knowingly, "and they are perfect for this. Now shush up and worry about what you are doing for this, Kristopher."
Ben cleared his throat. "Um....can I sing Whole Lotta Love?"
Kris turned to look at Adam and then back at Ben. "You can sing that? Like, high notes and all?"
Ben blushed and shook his head. "I do my own version. It's acoustic. Eh, you'll see."
I'll still be sexier, Adam thought to himself as he quietly hummed along to the melody of Love Game. He then spotted Brad strutting down the halls with a sexy swagger going on and ran straight to him, snagging him just barely.
"Bradley, I need your help. I'm doing Love Game. You need to sing with me."Brad laughed. Heck, he freakin scoffed at Adam. "No mister, YOU need to create a song. I know the sex god inside of you is wanting to break out at help you create a song that will make Kris explode before you even start singing. Think deeply, Adam. Go ahead and let Gaga inspire you, but also add that Lambert touch I know you can do! And, if I must, I'll help with your little presentation. Oh, and don't tell Krissifer you switched. That's all going to be part of your little Love Game with him, sweetie," Brad said with a wink as he continued on his way down the hall. Kris wasn't gonna' know what hit him. Sexy song plus surprise equals minds blown.
This was going to be perfect.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That night, after the whole day had flown by faster than they could imagine, Kris and Adam retired to Kris's home and bedroom, both laying on Kris's comfy bed and resting while the TV played in the background.
"Hey sweetie," Kris said smoothly, "are you using Brad in Love Game?"
"Nah," Adam replied coyly, trying to keep an unsuspecting tone to his voice as he let his lie slip, "he chickened out. But I bet some of the girls join me. Heck, maybe Brad will turn around. Who knows."
"Why won't you use me if it's a sexy song?"
"Well, what fun would it be if I can't sing to someone? I have to direct my eyes to look at someone if I'm singing about sexy things like a disco stick. S'not like I can grab yours on stage in front of the whole class."
Kris's face flushed, clearly defeated by Adam's words, and then turned away from his lover's own face shyly to hide in the crook of Adam's neck. Adam giggled.
"Aww I'm sorry I made you all hot and embarrassed by that. C'mere and give me a kiss."
Kris came out of his 'hiding spot' and placed a small kiss on Adam's lips before scurrying back into his crook. It was enough to make Adam smile, and that's all that really mattered to Kris. The tender pull between shyness and playfulness. That was his shtick, and he pulled it off ever so well against Adam. It's what makes Adam Yin and Kris Yang.
Fact of the matter is that they work together through their balance of those two.
"I'm mad I can't spend all night with you like we could during summer," Kris said faintly, his mind drifting other places as he spoke. "I'd love to feel that smooth black hair in my hands as we make love in the dim morning light, only to wake up worn out in each other's arms during the bustle of mid-day activities with those blissful looks on our faces that we always have. That's what I want."
Adam smiled and kissed the side of Kris's buried head. "You sound so tired and out of it. But I love when you're like that. You're the cutest then."
"Whatever you say. All I know is that we have no troubles now. I like Sophomore school better than freshmen school. Don't you, Addie?"
Again, Adam was forced to smile. He slowly got up, letting Kris gently fall into his pillows, and placed a loving kiss to his forehead as he tucked the covers under his tiny body.
"G'night Kristopher. Go to bed."
"'Kay," Kris replied, closing his eyes until they were shut tightly over his chocolaty brown eyes. Adam then walked to the door, leaving silently as his loving boyfriend drifted into unconsciousness safely in the sheets of his own bed. He crept out of the Allen household and stumbled to his new car he'd gotten over the summer, putting it in gear and hurrying out of the driveway. Cool rain began to pour, and it hit Adam's windshield lightly in a tiny yet calm beat. Adam sped down the road to his house, pulling into the driveway with a tired and worn-out expression on his face, and walking into his house with the same exasperated look. He didn't even bother to go to his bed. Adam stumbled to the couch he had, plopping down on the comfy cushions with ease, letting the darkness overwhelm him and welcome him into a deep sleep.
Little did he know, a certain someone wasn't going to have the same kind of calm night. In fact, it wasn't going to be even a bit as nice as his.
All thanks to the psycho Crystal and her longing for revenge.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, Adam normally was one to wake on his own, but on this day, he was awoken to the vibration of his cell phone rubbing against his kitchen counter. Lazily wiping his hand over his face, Adam turned to the clock to check the time.
4:30am. Great.
Stumbling over reluctantly, Adam snatched his cell from the granite counter top and unlocked the screen. There popped up 3 new messages from Kris. The first one seemed.....worried? Scared?
"Adam....there's something not right here...."
Adam then flipped to the next one, which, even though it was in the same size print as all the other texts, just didn't seem like Kris's writing. Adam read it intently.
"Adam, you better save me from this. Crystal wants revenge. I'm hurting from the pain of this."
What the hell does that mean?
The next text left Adam breathless.
"You could've stopped this. But you stayed asleep. Well, I hope you're happy with what you did."
Kris was in trouble.
He could just sense it.
Now, you would think that Adam would've just ran as fast as he could over to the Allen household to see if his lover was okay, but no, he didn't. Instead, Adam quickly dialed Ben's number, his heart pounding deep in his chest. Ben answered on the fourth ring.
"Adam, it's 4:30 in the morning! Why the hell would you-"
"Kris is in trouble. I just got a text that says I could've prevented something from happening. Ben, I think Crystal did something to him."
There was a slight pause on the other line, followed by the sound of other voices in the background.
"Adam," Ben replied calmly, "I'm glad you called me because my Dad's a police officer. That's kinda' why I'm so protective. Anyway, we're going over there to check it out. I suggest you come over, too, but you need to wait for us if you get there earlier. That person may be armed. Tell you're parents you're just heading out to his house and get over there."
Adam shivered at the thought of his poor baby being held at gunpoint and toughly responded by saying "See you there." and hanging up.
When it came to stuff like this, no one was going to knock Adam freakin Lambert down.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ben arrived at the same time Adam did, both getting out cautiously to examine what was going on. Suddenly, a few more police officers other than Ben's father pulled up, all holding their guns tightly to their side in case that person was still there. Ben gulped at looked up at his father.
"Dad, make sure Kris is okay. Just get him the hell out of that place."
Ben's Dad nodded and motioned for a group of officers to head on in to the house. At first look you could see how the guy got in. He simply picked the lock and opened the door, apparently not caring to close it. The squad waked on in.
And then there was noise. Noise of men yelling for someone to get down on the ground and leave something alone.
"That something they're talking about is Kris," Adam said to Ben. Ben just nodded and kept his eyes glued to the front door, his eyes fiercely scanning the rest of the house.
Suddenly people were walking outside. Kris's parents and Dan were being sneaked through the back door to safety by another group of officers, not one of them looking un-harmed by this incident. Adam ran up to Kim and hugged her, feeling her warm arms wrap around his neck and hot tears trickle on to his shoulder from her worried eyes. He looked at Kris's father Neil then and saw sheer concern behind his tough appearance. He was worried for Kris. Hell, he seemed a few seconds away to running into that house and saving Kris himself. Just then, Adam felt his phone vibrate. He released Kim from his hug and took his cell out to check it. An unknown number was calling. Adam answered it, seeing Ben's father and a few cops trying to hear it too and find a location of who was calling.
This 'unknown caller' just had to be trouble.
"H-hello? Who is this?"
The person on the other line snorted as if this was funny.
"Who could it not be? It's Crystal, you big buffoon! And I'm not that happy with what you just did."
Adam heard Ben's father gasp and saw him motion for a few guards to go around to the back of the house. He then read the words "she's back there" off of his lips and froze.
"Hey jerk, answer me!"
"What the hell is your problem, Crystal?"
"Problem?" Crystal mumbled quietly to herself. "I have no problem with myself. I have one with you and how you have Kris."
"So you hurt Kris? And when the heck will you just get over it?"
He heard Crystal groan. "Never Adam. And I hurt him so that he can be mine."
"Like that would work."
"Oh it will. You'll see someday."
The sound of the officers then filled the other line, and Adam heard the other cell phone drop and the sound of a loud shriek come from where they were. It sounded like they had tazered her and that they had gotten her, and that was music to all their ears. They brought her out a few minutes later, struggling to stop her from fighting now that she had gained her senses back, and slammed her to the ground to handcuff her. Adam walked over to her against his better judgement and stared her square in the eye.
"Leave. Us. Alone."
"Screw you," Crystal replied. "Besides, I already had sex with him! So did my friend in there! Hell, I'll have his baby!"
I'll take that baby from you, too. "And do what with it? Use it as currency so you can get new clothes in jail?"
"Ha. I ain't going to jail!"
Ben's Dad rolled his eyes. "You're partially correct. You're not going to normal jail. You're going to jail a jail for psychos like you. Oh, and you'll be in a straight jacket, so good luck trying to get out!"
Crystal shrieked and kicked an officer in the leg. "NO! LET ME GO!"
Adam waved at her as she was thrown into a dark van that had pulled up moments before and got taken away. Then, the guy from inside was brought out, blood on his ripped shirt and his nose broken. Good job fighting, babe. An officer then ran up to Ben's father and spoke.
"Sir, the boy in their needs to be taken to a hospital. Come with me, please."
Ben's father, Adam, and Ben himself all followed-Kris's family being too fragile at the moment-and came through the door. They made their way to Kris's bedroom to find Kris laying on his bed, a towel covering his lower half of his body and new bandages covering his forehead and neck. Adam rushed over to Kris and just looked him over in horror.
"Kris...are you okay? What did they do to you?"
Kris slowly focused his gaze on Adam, a lone tear falling down his cheek.
"Bad things. And no..I......" Kris broke into sobs at that moment, barely saying "oww" as the tears fell. The sound of an ambulance filled their hearing, and soon EMT's were rushing in, pushing everyone aside to help Kris. Adam the whole time kept by his side, though, murmuring quiet words of re-assurement to him as the paramedics worked to help Kris on to their stretcher safely. Kris just kept crying, not even caring that he was hurt or that he was being talked to by a bunch of worried EMTs, He was too freaked out by what had just happened.
He had just gone through the worst experience he'd ever been through.
God knows that he hated every minute of it. He came because his body naturally reacted to it. It's not like he wanted to. Who would when a girl and a guy who you absolutely hate start forcing you to make love? Not even make love, but just have sex like that. Pure sex without love. He had tried to go against it, hoping that someone would come in and save him, but no, no one did, He was left to the dogs, you could say. The whole time he had prayed Adam would come to his rescue. He practically begged in every tear that he cried when Crystal's friend penetrated him brutally, holding that cold and hateful knife to his neck, promising it would all be over soon. By that, Kris thought he would either stop soon or that his heart itself was going to stop. Much to his bittersweet luck, he survived, only to be forced into pleasing the girl who he hated the most. He would have barely pleased her, making her just barely come, but that all changed he moment Crystal's friend brought out that knife again.
Basically, he just wished Adam had stayed with him that night.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I'm so sorry baby," Adam said through tears, "I shouldn't have left. I should have stayed and protected you. I-""Shush," Kris said in a whisper, "it wasn't your fault. Trust me. No one could have prevented what happened. Yeah, maybe if you had stayed I wouldn't have been as hurt, but they still came, Adam, and you may have been hurt by them too. I would've hated that."
Adam sighed and looked into Kris's brown eyes sadly, seeing the pain that he was trying to hide clearly. It hurt him, and that was the thing he hated the most. Pain was not a good color on Kris.
"You want me to get you something to eat from the cafeteria?"
"Um...sure. Can I have ice cream?"
Adam smiled and got up from Kris's bedside, wiping the tears away as he left the room. Kris sighed.
I hope Adam doesn't ask me to have sex with him any time soon. All he knows is that they hurt me. He doesn't even know a thing. Gosh, why didn't they just kill me?
Moments later, Daniel walked in, his face a bit grim and sorrowful. Kris sighed.
"I'm alive Dan, you don't have to be all sad."
"You just got raped Kris. I think I have the right to feel worried for my little brother."
Kris rolled his eyes. "I ain't that little."
"Kris, I'm turning 18 this year. Next year I'll be in collage, far from where you can reach me. You're always going to be my little brother because you always rush to my side when you need help. Blame mom for having you last."
"You are so weird," Kris said quietly, "but I love you. I'm gonna miss you, Dan. Sorry I'm snapping at you about this. I guess I'm just being shaky."
Daniel smiled and patted Kris's head. "Forget it, Kris. It's fine. Anyway, um...are you gonna ever tell Adam about what happened? He really should know before you guys get into it and then you chicken out. The dude has feelings, you know."
"Adam is a big boy. He can respect if I ask him to not do something. All I have to do is tell him I'm not in the mood right then and he'll settle for a cuddle. Happens all the time. Besides, he can get out all the sexual tension when we get back to school and sing our 'sexy' songs. It's as simple as that."
Just then, Adam walked back in carrying a little bowl of ice cream in his hand, smiling at Dan as he entered through the doorway.
"Hey Dan," he said a bit more cheerfully than before "why are you here?"
"Oh, just to say hi to Kris before I head back home. Um.....see ya' Kris."
Kris nodded and managed to wave back, his face falling a bit. Adam plopped on a chair next to Kris's bed and dug a spoon into the nice chocolaty cream, holding it out for Kris to eat.
"Taste it, sweetie. It's delish."
"I bet," Kris replied, taking the small portion of the ice cream into his mouth and savoring the flavor of it's cool and smooth texture. Adam smiled.
"You like that, don't you?"
For a moment, Kris was okay and was about to answer him. Then, it all came to him and hit him like a giant wave.
"Oh Philip, you're making Kris all hot and bothered. I think you should go harder. He's not feeling it yet."
"Yes, I agree. K-kris, you're going to enjoy this."
"No, no please! Owwwww! Ah!"
"You like that, don't you? Yeah, don't ya'?"
"Kris!"
Suddenly, everything seemed real again, and Kris noticed Adam worriedly looking into his eyes in search if what was wrong. Kris took a big deep breath and then let it out in a big sigh, preparing himsef for telling Adam about this.
"Sweetie, we need to talk."
Adam nodded and intently looked at him.
"Crystal and that loon.....they....they raped me, Adam. That's why I'm hurt."
Kris saw the fear and concern sweep through his eyes as his mind processed those words.
"Oh my gosh. Kris.....why didn't you or somebody else tell me?"
"I didn't want you to worry," he confessed, "and you seemed too stressed about what happened for me to feel safe with you learning of it. I just wanted you to not be scared out of your mind."
Adam sighed and kissed Kris's forehead gently, seeing the small flinch Kris tried to hide oh-so-much and wanting to cry.
"Never not tell me something like this, Kris. Never."
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be. I know you were thinking with your heart on that one. Its just that your mind wasn't thinking when it should've. You know what, though?"
"What?" Kris said back weakly.
"I think it was sweet of you to do that. Even though I am mad that you didn't tell me earlier, I really am happy of how you were thinking of me the whole time. I promise, Kris, that we will work though this together until you can be 100% well again. I'll hate them for the rest of my life for doing what they just did to you, but that's not something to think about right now. Right now we need to focus on getting you well again and back at school with me and the group. Okay?"
Kris smiled and reached out his hand to feel Adam's warm and beautiful face under his shaky palm. As their skin met, Kris sighed. Adam's face seemed so much more inviting and just full of care and compassion. It could make him cry just by his touch. So soft and pretty.
Just then, Adam slowly bent down and carefully kissed Kris on the lips, ignoring Kris's flinch this time completely. He slowly just kept the kiss going, praying that Kris would feel less scared as it went on. Suddenly, Kris pushed Adam away, immediately looking away from his face and just huddling in his bed. Adam gulped and stepped back a bit, giving him some space.
"Kristopher? Sweetheart, are you okay?"
Kris still didn't look at him, but he replied.
"We went too far too fast just then, Adam. Short kisses are all we should do for now, if any. I just.....don't feel safe...kissing you."
And as much as that hurt Adam to think about, he knew it was true. They needed time.
Luckily, that was a time he was willing to take.
Stupid Crystal and idiot loon with her. Oh well, at least they're going to be with their straight jackets and not with us for hopefully a while.
I just hope Kris won't be like this forever.
To be continued.....

PS: Guys, I want you to know that I just really am in a corner about this situation with actually doing something other than lovey-dovey stuff. I want you to know that as a writer I do have to make conflicts and a plot, and even though I guess I may have gone a bit too far here, I do have to make a little *drama* within this story. Crystal isn't a kid on the playground who takes your swing. She's bad, and I had to do something about her. I also have to use some sort of drama or else it'd be pointless to keep writing this story. DRAMA IS PART OF THE FIC, and I really feel like I get yelled at or have readers that I ry to please turn away and not comment or go on. I feel guilty and sad when I do that. So, anyway, I'm gonna be like Adam was on the AMA's and say that although I'm not sorry I wrote it-considering the good that will soon happen because of this-, but that I am gonna be more...careful next time. I'm open to any suggestions you may have for me about what to do next time, so please tell me if you have any.
Many glittery hugs,
G-Rock <3

A/N: I hope you guys enjoy this chapter! I LOVED writing it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =D
"Well class," their homeroom teacher said one last time to them, "Next year, you'll all be passed off to the sophomore teachers and will be just my science group. I want to say that, although it's been a hard freshman year for some of you-" All eyes went on Adam and Kris, but they just rolled their eyes and shook their heads. "-but, I can only say that it will keep getting better and better. I can't wait to see what you all will accomplish next year. Anyway, I wish you all luck! Goodbye everyone and good luck as Sophomores!"
And then, the final bell rang, sending everyone into just hugs goodbye and kisses from lovers.
For once, Adam was part of that group.
Snatching his sweetheart tight in his arms, Adam planted a big and wet kiss on Kris's lips, joy and pure love in his big blue eyes. Kris leaned into Adam's grasp, closing his eyes in pure happiness of the moment.
Finally.
It's over.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"MOM!!!!!!!!!! WE'RE SOPHOMORES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Adam came walking in with Kris at his side, giggling and totally blissed-out by the joy of summer. Leila smiled and hugged both of them joyously. Finally.
"Congrats you two!!!!!!!! And, uh....if you want to...celebrate...you can. Neil's off with some friend for the night to kick off summer."
Kris snorted. "Glad he is. I'm not being naked in this house with him near."
"Says who, mister? If I want you to be-"
"Boys," Leila said, a smirk in her voice, "let's not talk about that stuff right now. Anyway, why don't you two chill on the couch for a bit until I start dinner. Holler if you need me!"
Once Leila was gone, Adam and Kris flopped on to the couch -Adam first, of course- and began to watch TV. Suddenly, Adam got a text from Neil.
"Mom is probably gonna kill me."
Adam let out a small groan -that Kris had mistaken for pleasure much to his luck- and then texted back.
"Why would she?"
Neil replied quickly. "'Cause I did something a bit.....crazy."
"Crazy as in what?"
"Crazy as kiss my friend..."
To Adam, a kiss was nothing really, unless with Kris or his parents. It was a show of love or curiosity. Leila had told that to him a long time ago, and it still stuck with him today. So, when he read the text, Adam kind of laughed. This kid is a handful.
"Mom won't kill you for a kiss, Neil."
"Will she kill me for kissing his sister?"
Adam groaned. "Neil, are you going crazy? First you say you're gay, then you go out and kiss a girl? What is with you?"
He got a reply a little while later. "I don't know what the heck I am, Adam. I liked kissing Kris, I liked kissing my friend, and I liked kissing his sister, too. All just as much. If there's some sort of name for that, then tell me, 'cause right now I feel like a freak."
"Neil, you're just getting confused. Hell, I kissed some girls when I was younger. Just don't get too ahead of yourself. I guess all I can say is experiment. You're 13. Give it some time. Now, I gtg because Kris is asleep on my leg and I should do something about that. Bye."
"Bye."
Adam set down his phone and looked down at the now sleeping Kris. His arms were holding Adam close like a pillow and he was sort of hugging his legs. He just looked super comfortable at the moment.
"Dang you're cute," Adam whispered, petting Kris's hair lightly with his hand. Kris shifted a bit, but stayed asleep. A smile had appeared on that little face, and that was all Adam needed to feel at peace. Summer finally was here, and now they could be at ease. No bullies, no trouble-minus Neil-to worry about, and just plain relaxation time with his love under the sun. What more could he ask for?
This summer was surely going to be one of his favorites.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
{Flash Forward to June 21st of that summer}
Kris knew that day was coming. His sweet 16. All that night leading up to his birthday, Adam had hung out with him at his house, kissing him and telling him just how excited he was for tomorrow.
Well, tomorrow is now, and the moment Kris woke up, he even felt excited.
Kris did his usual morning routine-showering, brushing his teeth, getting dressed-and then went to check his cell. He saw he had 5 texts. Smiling, he read them one by one.
"Happy Birthday Kristopher!!!!!!!! Hope Adam makes you happy today ;) xoxo Brad"
Kris laughed. That's so Brad.
"Happy B-day bro! <3 Allison" Kris giggled and read the next one.
"Hey Kris! Happy B-day from Jamie, Gabby, and I! luv ya! Casey :)"
Smiling, he looked to the next, a bit surprised by the sender. "Hey Kris, it's Ben. Hope you have a good birthday, buddy! See ya!"
Then, Kris turned to the final text, the most recent one, and opened it quickly.
"I suggest that you get your butt over here in your bathing suit ASAP. You deserve a sexy and fun sweet 16. See ya' there."
Adam.
As if the day couldn't get any better than to hear his boyfriend as him to come see him, Kris saw a pair of brand new dark blue swim trunks laying on his dresser with a little note from Adam saying 'Happy Birthday' to him. He took them and put them on, checking in his mirror to see how he looked, slid on his black flip-flops, slid on a white sleeveless shirt, and then walked out to the living room. Instantly, Kim was hugging him, yelling 'Happy Birthday!' loudly into his ear and kissing his face everywhere. Dan was sitting on the couch smiling, and his father was sitting in his chair staring at the TV blankly. Kris chuckled and yanked his mother off him.
"Thanks Momma. Calm down before you have a heart attack!"
Kim laughed and sat back on the couch, wrapping her arm around Daniel.
"Um....Momma, Adam texted me and wants me to come over. I'll be home before dinner so that we can celebrate then. I promise."
"But Kris," Kim said sadly, "we were gonna take ya' on a trip to the Hollywood strip to go sight-seeing and stuff!"
Damn. "Momma...Adam seems to have really planned something...It'd kill him if I bailed out, probably."
Neil glared at him angrily. "Kristopher Neil Allen, you will not blow off your family for Adam! Now go and get ready to go to Hollywood."
"Wait," Daniel said, "Kris, could you see if we could come along with you guys? I mean, knowing Adam's family, they're bound to come with you two."
"Sounds fine to me," Kim said. Neil just nodded and motioned for Kris to go call.
I hate this. "Fine, I'll go call him."
Kris walked back to his room and grabbed his phone, groaning as he reluctantly typed Adam's number. He wasn't happy about this one bit. Well, let's screw sexy! Adam answered on the second ring.
"Kris," he said a bit surprised, "why are you calling?"
"Why don't you ask that to my family?"
"What?"
Kris groaned again. "My family had this sight-seeing thing in Hollywood planned today and my Dad forced me to go."
"Oh hell no. So you can't come to see me?" Adam's voice sounded so disappointed. Apparently, he really was looking forward to this.
"Not exactly. You see, Daniel came up with the idea where they come along to wherever we are going. So, as long as they come along, I can come."
"That sucks."
"I know."
With a little laugh at Kris's enthusiasm, Adam sighed and replied back to his lover.
"Okay, well at least everything won't be that messed up by this. Besides, there's plenty of things to do at the beach that they-"
"OH MY GOSH!!!!! I LOVE THE BEACH! OH MY, SCREW THE POUTING, I'LL DRAG MY FAMILY OVER AS FAST AS I POSSIBLY CAN!!!!!!! BYE!"
All that could be heard on the other line was the guffaws from Adam as he enjoyed Kris's excitement.
"Bye sweetie."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was 11:45am by the time Kris and his family reached the beach. The sand and water looked beautiful that day, as it should, and just invited everyone to come. Luckily, though, not many people were there. Actually, there were only a couple families strung along the sandy shore as their little children played at the water's edge and built sand castles. The place was freakin gorgeous.
Once Kris's family all was out and sun-screened up, the group marched up to the sand from the parking lot, smiling at the nice view it gave. After a minute of searching, Kris saw Adam and his family all set up a few feet up shore in the nice white sand. Leila was drinking a cutesy margarita with an umbrella in it, Eber was cooking on a little mini-grill he had brought along, Neil was fiddling around with a sandcastle he had made, and Adam was laying on a lounge chair under a large beach umbrella, head back, relaxing to the calm sound of the waves. He had on blackish swim trunks, a very see-through cover shirt, and dark sunglasses.
Gorgeous as hell, I tell you.
Kris suddenly ran from his family's group and crept up to where Adam was laying, sneaking right behind him and taking off his shades with a smirk. Adam giggled and reached for them back, getting a simple head shake 'no' from Kris, who then got out from under the umbrella and taunted him.
He wanted this to be a chase.
Slowly getting up from his chair, Adam got up and walked calmly towards Kris, a smirk now also appearing on his freckled face. Kris winked and then sped off down the beach, an evil laugh coming from his lips as he ran. Adam sprinted after him, chasing past a few unsuspecting families and over a few old and abandoned sandcastles. Finally, about 60 feet from where their families were, Adam caught Kris, tackling him to the ground and successfully obtaining his sunglasses back. Adam giggled.
"Happy Birthday, Kristopher."
Placing a small kiss on Adam's cheek, Kris smiled.
"Thanks babe."
The two walked back hand-in-hand down the beach with big smiles plastered on their faces, ignoring the occasional looks from a few of the families they passed. Suddenly, a little girl they passed looked at them at called them over to her. When they got back to her, she smiled.
"You two want to build sandcastles with me? My mommy is too worn out to. Plus, she's got my baby brother inside her, so she's always tired. So, pleeeeeeeeeeeease can you play?"
Looking over to the little girl's mother, who was planted under her umbrella with a smile at the two's faces. She motioned for them to go on and play, so they did.
"Of course," Adam said in his sweetest voice, "we'd love to! What's your name?"
"Marcie, but my real name is Marcella. I like Marcie better. Who are you two?"
Kris warmly smiled at the little girl and knelt down to her. "Well, I'm Kris and that's Adam," he said pointing to his lover beside him. Marcie smiled and started playing around with the loose sand around her, a small frown appearing on her face.
"Guys, this sand stinks. Why won't it stay together???"
Adam laughed and sat down next to her, taking one of her toy shovels in his hand. "Because this is dry sand. Dry sand doesn't like to stay together. But wet sand does, and there's two ways we can get it. First, by digging deep into the sand to get it out." Adam took the shovel and began digging, hitting some wetter sand about a foot down. "Second, by taking some water from the ocean and mixing it with sand." Kris took her bucket and ran down to the water's edge, filling the bucket up about halfway, and then came back. He sat down and poured some of it into the dry sand. At first, the sand looked muddy, but then it turned a bit harder, and it started to become perfect for building. Marcie smiled at the two.
"You guys are smarties! So, smarties, what do we do next?"
Smiling at Kris, Adam grabbed another bucket of hers and started to fill it with sand. "Well, you just put the wet sand into a bucket and..." Adam then took the bucket packed with sand and flipped it over quickly, pressing it lightly into the sand, hoping it would work. Then, he slowly took the bucket off, and sure enough, a perfect sandcastle was standing before Marcie. She giggled and clapped her hands, simply delighted. She then took the same bucket and did exactly what Adam had done before, grinning ear to ear when another perfect sandcastle stood next to the other. Adam and Kris both clapped for her, earning a big hug for both of them from the small auburn-haired girl. With a short goodbye and mouthed 'thank you' from Marcie's mom, Adam and Kris were set free, both resuming their walk back. Soon enough, they got back, Leila and Kim smiling at them.
"You boys are too sweet," Leila said, clasping her hands together in pleasure, "playing with that little girl like that? I'm so proud of you boys."
Kim nodded and walked back over to where Leila had been drinking her margarita and sat down in her beach chair that now was next to hers. Leila followed her and sat, chatting along happily about something that the boys didn't care about. Adam and Kris then looked over to where Neil was, seeing Daniel play happily along with him at trying to capture a poor crab that was just merrily walking by in the sand. Then they looked to where Eber was, seeing him obsessing over his grill with the somehow happy Neil Allen. Suddenly, Kris was pulled to the side by Adam, getting a big bear hug from him and a small kiss. Kris laughed.
"A little happy, are we?"
A twinkle came in Adam's eye. "Far from a little, Kris. Now, I didn't get to put on any sunscreen, so...um..could you help?" Adam's eyebrow shot up and a sexy look appeared on his face. Kris giggled and dragged Adam over to a spot beside Neil and Daniel's chase of the crab, laying a beach towel from his parents on the ground, motioning for Adam to get on it. Adam did and took off his cover shirt, tossing it aside to reveal part of his gorgeous body. he then laid down on the towel, shutting his eyes and sliding on his sunglasses. Kris took the bottle of sunscreen from the sand and opened it, pouring a small amount of lotion on to his hands. He then placed his hands on Adam's back, lovingly massaging the sunscreen into Adam's back, a few moans getting uttered in sheer delight.
Over where Neil and Daniel were playing around with the crab, Neil noticed his brother and Kris near them and stopped playing, a frown appearing on his face. Dan soon noticed and looked at the two, not understanding what the problem was.
"Hey buddy," he said to Neil in a bit of concern, "are you okay?"
"Why does Adam get to be so lucky?"
"Lucky? How?"
Neil crossed his arms and looked to Daniel innocently. "He gets to have someone who loves him and doesn't think he's a freak. Plus he has Kris."
Daniel looked to Neil in confusion. "So...you're jealous he has Kris? Why should you?"
"Because I think Kris is cute, okay? I don't think I'm full out-and-proud gay but I do think Kris is hot and heck, he started this. I like him and that's that."
"So trying to break Kris away and being jealous of Adam is gonna change things?"
"Maybe," Neil said quietly, "but I know I'll never get Kris. I just want someone like Kris for me. A lot."
Dan smiled. "You're not gay, Neil, you're just a very confused kid who just wants love. Who knows, you may find that someone like Kris that is a guy, but that someone could also be a girl. Neil.........I think you should just stop and wait until you're older to really think about stuff like this. You're young right now. Understand?"
Smiling, Neil nodded and hugged Dan, looking over to Adam and Kris enjoying themselves. "Thanks Daniel."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Adam, stop freaking out, it's just seaweed."
"BUT IT WAS IN MY HAIR!"
Adam was on the edge of the water picking out pieces of seaweed that had gotten in his hair when they scubba-dived just minutes before. Kris was leaning on Adam's shoulder next to him with a big smile on his face as his love picked seaweed paranoidly out of his raven-black hair while the wind attacked it. The sun was only a few minutes away from setting, and their day on the beach was sadly coming to and end. Everyone was all ready to go, but were staying to see the sun hit the water. Kris nudged Adam's arm, making Adam turn to look into his eyes.
"Hey, remember in 'Pirates of The Caribbean' how they said that every time the sun sets and you see a green flash, a soul has just been released from Davy Jones' Locker?"
"Of course," Adam said calmly, the last few pieces getting out of his hair.
"Well, I wonder if we'll see it tonight."
Getting the last piece out from his hair, Adam smiled and shivered a bit as the cool water hit his toes.
"It's your birthday, after all. They've got to free a soul on an occasion like this!"
Kris laughed and began to cover part of his leg under sand. Adam just gazed into the sky as the pink and orange colors painted a beautiful picture on the clouds. The wind became rougher and the water inched closer. The tide was coming in. Yet, the boys stayed in place, letting the nice cool water cover their legs inch by inch. Suddenly, the sun began to set into the water. Adam and Kris smiled and gazed at the sun, watching it sink slowly into the water. Finally, it was ready to dip below the horizon. Kris watched extra closely, waiting for that green flash anxiously.
"OH MY GOSH!"
It was small, but Kris and Adam both saw the little green flash just as the sun disappeared into the water. So rushed by their excitement, the two kissed. Adam had his hand resting around Kris's neck and Kris had one hand in the sand to prop him up and one hand on Adam's shoulder, lovingly holding him close. You could say sounded like it was a scene from a movie, but to Adam and Kris, it was real.
Oh so awesomely real.

Oct. 11th, 2010 06:52 pm1: My new banner should be coming any day now =) Can't wait for it!!!!!!
2: Guys, just hope and pray for Adam to be safe during his stop in Malaysia. I'd hate for him to get arrested for being gay or for some wack-job attacking him. Also, all those protesters that are going to come......I just really feel for him right now. So, even if you aren't from the US, still pray that he does get back home safely <3 I really miss him and I think it's always scary to see something like this happen to someone overseas who doesn't quite know all their rules and such. Pray a prayer or just wish that he'll be okay and kill the concert like always =D Thx guys!
Anyway, READ ON =D
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Students," the science/homeroom teacher said to the group, "as you all know, your year of being freshmen is almost up, which means that next year comes a whole new group of kids with even more diverse personalities. Now, this year hasn't been the calmest of years on the violence level." Everybody turned to Kris and Adam in the back of the class, making them blush a bit. "Next year is going to be much, much different. I expect the utmost respect from all of you, regardless of how the new class is. If any of you cause anything to happen to them, you will be suspended or even kicked out of this very school. Do I make myself clear, class?"
Everyone tiredly nodded, each doing whatever they could to stay up.
"Now, since in a few days we are going off for summer, I'd like all of you to please get up, grab your bags, and go out to your locker and start cleaning it out. Make sure to grab every textbook and bring it to me when you are done. You will need to be finished by the end of this period. Okay, now go, but do not act wild, or else you will be in trouble! Go!"
It might as well have been the running of the bulls: LA edition.
Everyone ran as fast as they could off to their lockers, all happily chatting and smiling as if it was lunchtime or study hall. Adam and Kris walked hand-in-hand down to their lockers, smiling as they opened both of theirs. Kris really hadn't payed much attention to it, but Adam's locker was almost an exact replica of his, minus the little magnate and the picture of him and Katy that still stood it's place in his locker, only in green. Kris smiled and took out his math book, laying it down lightly on the floor.
"Remember when you decorated this?"
Adam laughed. "How could I not? That was the day I met you. Meeting you was the best moment of my life, regardless of how moody you acted."
"I was not-" Kris tried to say in protest, only to be shut up by Adam's laugh that echoed through the hall. Kris rolled his eyes and laughed along, silently remembering that day in a sense.
"Can you believe it's almost been a year since we've met?"
Kris shook his head. "Nope. Not one bit. You?"
"Nope," Adam honestly replied, taking a quick look in his mirror before shoving it into his backpack. "Can you believe all the crap we've been through since school started?"
"Not one bit," Kris said with a sigh. "We nearly died like, five times, we fell in love, you were poisoned, I...left you, we made up, we both lost our virginity..." Adam giggled a bit and then blushed, motioning for Kris to go on. "We promised ourselves to one another with our rings, we freakin went to Conway and saw Katy, got drunk by your weirdo aunt who's now pregnant, we both dated one other person for a short period of time, we dealt with my crazy father, and we met Brad, Allison, Casey, Gabby, and Jamie."
"Damn," Adam said in a bit of shock, "what a hell of a school year this has been. I'm kind of scared about next year."
"Even though it's another year closer until we no longer go here?"
Adam smirked and kissed Kris, nipping at his lip as he pulled away.
"Let's freakin celebrate."
---------------------------------------------------------------------
English went pretty well, not counting Adam's little run-in with the teacher about what's an appropriate sentence and what is not. He wrote it about their little night before-something that really wasn't meant at all to be used for an English project. They got no homework and were just cleaning their books the whole period, not allowed to talk what-so-ever. Leaving it was awesome-being able to talk again was like being able to walk again for the first time to most people-and for the short moment in-between classes, Adam and Kris just kissed at their lockers. They already had their books in their back-packs, so really, it was all they could do other than talk.
Come on, if you were them, what would you rather do? Talk, or kiss?
Tough answer.
As the bell rang, the boys were separated by their math classes, and were forced to live in their little coats of silence, not even any of the girls or Brad able to talk. It was the same deal in Math that day. They had to be quiet and had to clean up their books.
It was so much fun.
Getting up from his seat at the end of the period, Adam ran out the door as fast as he could to meet Kris. He so wanted to see his cutie now, and as far as he was concerned, he was going to. Searching high and low down the halls, Adam tried to find Kris. Yet, he seemed to be no where in sight for some reason beyond Adam's knowledge.
We always meet outside the door after math. Where the heck is my Kris?
Adam quickly made a dash for the bathroom, hoping Kris wasn't getting beaten up in there, but was suddenly yanked back by his shirt and thrown into what he guessed was a storage closet. Adam groaned.
"What the hell dude, are you freakin ma-"
Suddenly, lips were on his and he was slammed against the only clear wall in the room.
"You son of a-"
"Hi Adam," Kris said proudly, "nice to see you."
"I freakin thought you were getting beat up or something!"
"Mmmmm...you look so sexy right now."
"What the hell, Kris, why did you-"
"HEY," Kris said, slamming Adam once more into the wall, earning a small moan from him. "shut up about that right now and listen. You, mister, are going to do me right here and right now while everyone's at lunch. No one shall hear us, no one shall bother us. Now, I suggest you pucker up those pretty little lips of yours, because this morning is about to get a whole lot more interesting."
Holy mother of glitter, some serious stuff's about to go down.
------------------------------------------------------------
The rest of the day was going swimmingly so far. Social Studies was a breeze considering they just did what they'd been doing for the past 3 or so hours. Adam and Kris just kept their dirty little smirks on their faces, knowing what they had just gotten away with and what just happened. Suddenly, though, Adam's cell went off, and the caller ID said Neil. What the hell. He quietly walked up to the teacher and asked if he could answer it. The teacher, knowing how today wasn't really much of a school day, let him go to the bathroom and answer. Once in there, Adam ran in and answered in an angry tone of voice.
"Neil, what the hell man, I'm in school! Why are you calling me when you know-"
"Adam, I'm scared. Kids.....they think I'm gay and well...I'm trapped in a storage closet right now by them."
For a moment, Adam just stood frozen, his brain flashing back to when he was in middle school having to fo through the crap the other kids gave him for being gay. But.....Neil?
"Neil, you need to get out and go straight to a teacher."
"But Adam! They'll kill me if I leave!"
Adam sighed and clenched the outer lining of the phone tightly, pushing back tears and old memories.
"Trust me, Neil. Remember when I was younger and I used to come home crying?"
"Yes," Neil replied a bit calmer.
"Mom always told me to run and go to teachers. Even if they don't approve of you being gay....they'll still stop them from hurting you. Trust me, Neil. And by the way.......you need to talk to mom and dad tonight."
"But-"
"Neil," Adam said quietly, "it makes everything better. I'm telling you, it does. Now get out of there and find a teacher. Fight hard, buddy."
Although they were near inaudible, Adam could hear small sobs coming from Neil. How is this happening?
"I've got to head back to class, Neil."
"No," he said a bit louder and more desperate, "I don't want you to go, Adam."
Sighing, Adam wiped away his tears and replied. "Trust me Neil, you need to go and face your fears head on, or else you'll just screw yourself even more. Now, go be the Neil I know you can be."
"I love you, Adam," Neil quietly said through sobs. It brought Adam to tears at the sound of his little brother crying on the other line. It was as if he was watching his life happen all over again to poor little Neil. At least, though, Neil had him to talk to. Choking back his tears, Adam took a deep breath and returned the love, giving a quite goodbye and then hanging up. All he could hope was that Neil would be okay. Right now, though, he had to get back to class.
Stupid history was calling to him.
----------------------------------------------------------
"So is he okay?" Kris said as he walked down the halls with Adam. "Like, did you hear anything from him afterwords?"
Adam shook his head and sighed deeply. "Nope. Not even a text, but they are a bit stricter of cell phones in middle school, so he may just not be able to call or text that he's okay."
"You think he could be hurt?"
"Neil?" Adam said a bit un-confident of himself. "I think that if he stands up for himself and really...well...doesn't let the others get to him that he should be okay. I mean, you got lucky that you had me with you when you came out, Kris, because I know how to play damage control and I could be with you whenever to protect you. With Neil.......I can't go to school with him. Of course, since it's almost the end of the school year, this is gonna probably ruin his summer if we don't do something fun to cheer him up. None of his 'friends' will probably do stuff with him and he'll be practically an outcast. Especially since they won't forget about this over the summer. 8th grade is gonna suck for him."
Kris nodded and wrapped his arm around Adam's, leaning into it as they walked more.
"I feel sorry for him," he mumbled quietly. "Neil's such a good kid, minus the pain in the butt part he's always had, and I'd hate to see him just...lose it all for such a stupid reason. Damn, this sucks."
Adam nodded and once more checked his cell for messages. He had none still, and his heart sank just a little bit more.
Oh please let him be okay.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Music and Spanish were kind of like obstacles for Adam at the moment. All he wanted was to go home and comfort Neil in his arms, but no, school had to last on even longer.
All throughout music-which usually was Adam's favorite subject-he got distracted by horrible memories from middle school that would not leave him alone. It hurt him, and his mind couldn't even begin to write any more of his song. Many people noticed his down look-even Brad and Allison, who always were in a good mood, did-and felt kind of worried about him. They knew something was up.
Spanish was even worse because they had to do class work. Adam didn't even have the attention to do it.
For all he knew, he flunked the paper.
Finally, as the last bell rang, it was time to go home. Kris decided to come home with Adam for now and then leave later to be with his family whom he had neglected to talk to for a few days. Kris cared about them but really wanted to help Neil. He was like his little brother.
They hopped on the bus immediately and got off as fast as they could when Adam's house came, sitting in the steps just waiting for Neil's bus to come. Finally, after a few minutes, the bus came, and Neil practically ran off it, a few kids laughing and pushing him out, taunting him with names and such. Adam sprang up and ran towards them as the bus went away. If there was one thing he remembered from being a middle school kid, it was that you listened to what the high school kids said. Period.
"HEY!" He yelled to the kids who were now walking down the side walk. "GET BACK HERE!"
Just like he had hoped, the boys all walked back, looking at Adam with curious faces.
"Yes?" one boy cockily said, a smirk on his face.
The boy rolled his eyes. "I'm so scared. Gay boy over here has a brother who's wearing make-up and nail polish who's going to beat us up. Woooooooooow. I'm so worried."
Kris then got up and ran up to the kid, staring him straight in the eye.
"Oh, I can make you afraid. My brother will be a Senior next year in high school and was on the football team all the way up until this year since we just moved. He's hit 300 pound guys and would surely enjoy playing with a bunch of twerps who's combined weight is probably less than that. Especially if you make him angry. So, I suggest you guys lay off Neil if you don't want to be crippled for the rest of your life. Understand???"
The boys all looked at each other in a bit of fear and then scampered off as fast as they could. Kris smiled.
"I thought so."
Once the boys left completely out of sight, Kris and Adam bent down and helped Neil up from the ground. Adam instantly hugged him tightly, feeling Neil crumble a bit in his arms. Kris then hugged him, too, getting a quiet "thank you" from Neil as he pulled away. Kris kindly returned it.
"Neil.....we should go inside and have a talk with mom and pop. It'll be good for you."
Neil gulped and hugged Adam tight. "I'm worried."
Kris patted his back. "Hey, at least your parents are cool about this kind of stuff. I got like, shunned from my family. Calm down and don't worry. Adam's not lying one bit."
"Okay...........fine. But will you guys stay with me? I don't think I can handle going up to them alone."
Adam and Kris nodded, holding Neil close as they walked inside to go talk to Leila and Eber.
------------------------------------------------
"How long have you known, sweetie?" Leila asked Neil, who right now was in a whirl wind of emotions.
"I don't know," he quietly replied, "but it's only recently gotten to me. Really since Kris started staying over."
Okay, if he says he thinks Kris is hot I may have to kill this boy.
"Why is that?"
"Well......I kept hearing them and seeing them together and well......I wanted that. Also...." Neil blushed a little. "Kris is kinda cute."
Adam instantly shot a death glare at him. "Oh no, don't you dare take Kris from me."
"Adam Mitchel Lambert," Leila snapped angrily, "stop that! for pete sakes, your little 13 year old brother is not going to take Kris away from you."
"But Mom-"
"No butts. Now be quiet or else you'll be grounded! Would you like that for the beginning of summer? Being grounded?"
He shook his head and went silent, taking Kris's hand and pulling him close in a possessive way.
My Kris.
"Sweetie, you're really sure you're gay?"
"Yes Mom. I'm not all frilly like Adam but I am. I just know it."
Adam again glared, but Kris quickly squeezed his hand hard to distract him from it. Luckily for Adam, it worked before Leila could tell what was going on.
"Adam helped me though, today, because I got trapped in a storage closet and he told me what to do. Then when I got home he and Kris stopped some bullies on my bus and made them run off."
"That's very nice of them," Leila said, looking a bit more happy with Adam than before, "but I'm afraid not all bullies will stop."
Neil nodded. "I know. But at least Adam and Kris helped today."
"True," Eber said, entering the conversation a bit. He'd helped Adam a lot when he was younger, so in a way, it was Leila's turn to handle this. "Now...um...go hang out with Adam and Kris for a while. Let your mom and I have a minute to talk. Okay?"
Neil nodded and got up, Adam and Kris following behind. They all went into Adam's room and sat on his bed quietly. Adam got up and looked at Neil.
"You like Kris. My Kris."
"Well I...."
"My Kris, Neil."
"But his face-!"
"Is mine."
Kris bit his lip. "Adam, calm down a bit..."
"His whole body is mine. I'm the only one who can kiss those lips and make him feel feelings he didn't even know. So, back off him, Neil!"
"Why can't I kiss him?"
"BECAUSE IT'S WEIRD!" Adam yelled, his eyes fierce with jealousy. "THOSE LIPS ARE MINE, NEIL!"
"Adam," Kris calmly said as he walked up to him, "calm down. I'm not going anywhere to anyone else, remember? He's your baby brother who has a crush on me. Why would I leave you for your little brother that quick?"
Adam sighed and shook his head sadly. "I don't know. I just don't want another person wanting you like I do. I've already fought enough for you and I just don't feel able to fight for you anymore."
Kris let out a big 'awwww' and then kissed Adam's cheek. "It's okay sweetie.......I'm not going anywhere. You know that. You have no reason to be worried about Neil doing something. If he wants to kiss me.....so what? It's not like a kiss means marriage."
"It means your picture will be a giant poster in his room that kisses and get's off to-"
"AD-AM!!!!!!!!!! Not in front of Kris!"
"You little twerp still think you have a chance with him!"
"Yes, because you aren't listening to Kris. If I was with him I'd listen to anything he said for me to do. Anything."
"EWWWWW!" Adam shrieked, pulling Kris away from Neil, who was now giving his version of a sexy face to Kris. "That's GROSS Neil!!!!!!!! No thirteen year old should ever say that!"
"No fifteen year old should be sexually active, but hey, you two are freakin bunnies!"
"MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Leila came running in to see Adam huddled by Kris and Neil standing near them with this goofy look on his face. Oh for the love of crap. "What is going on?"
"Neil is trying to make a move on Kris! He wants to kiss Kris and do some really inappropriate stuff to him and I swear I feel nauseated just saying it!"
Leila sighed. "Neil Lambert...be nice to your brother and respect his relationship and his wishes for you to not be all lovey-dovey with Kris. They don't need you being immature and ruining it."
"But I'm just curious!"
She groaned and leaned against the door. "Frankly Neil, I'm so tired of this little discussion that I'm very close to say just go make out with a stuffed animal or something. Just leave them alone, sweetie. Now, I'm going ti leave, and I don't want ANY more complaints from you boys today. Do I make myself clear?"
"Yup."
"Yeah."
"Good," Leila said as she walked out from the room, leaving the three alone again. Kris sighed and sat back on the bed, dragging Adam to sit on it, too.
"Adam...as much as I want to stay, I probably need to go back to my family. You know, have dinner and possibly convince my father to like us a bit more."
Taking Kris's hand, Adam nodded and kissed his hand gently, smiling at his loving face.
"Of course. I love you, sweet thang."
Kris giggled. "I love you too, angel. Night."
Adam kissed Kris deeply yet lovingly, not only putting on a show for Neil but giving Kris a good good-night present. Finally, he pulled away, a giggle on his lips.
"G'night Kris."
"Ugh," Neil said, getting up, "you two are too sappy for me. I'm out." He then darted out fast in front of Kris, leaving him and Adam alone. Adam smirked and gave him a tap on his butt, laughing when Kris yelped..
"Run along, mister."
"Yes sir, Mr. Lambert, sir!" Kris said with a little salute as he strutted out to leave. He then walked all the way to the front door, opening it quickly.
What happened next was beyond his wildest suspicions.
Scaring the living crap out of him, Neil jumped up out of no where and kissed Kris smack dab on his lips. It was the most awkward, gross, and wrong moment in his life, and once the shock went away, Kris immediately pulled Neil off him, the most grossed-out expression EVER on his face. Neil smirked.
"Too much for ya' Arkansas?"
WHAT THE FLIPPIN HELL IS GOING ON IN THIS KID'S MIND!?!?
Kris just stood frozen at the door, his body not able to move by how freaked out he was.
"ADAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Neil then froze, scared of his brother coming and attacking him.
"Oh Kris, please don't tell Adam about this! He'll kill me!"
Kris shook his head. "You crossed the line there, Neil. Sorry."
"But I'm just curious!"
"...And going against what your mom and Adam said for you to do. I'm sorry, but I have to."
Adam then ran to Kris, seeing Neil in front of him and his disgusted expression.
"What the heck is up?"
"Your brother just kissed me. Like, I opened the door and he just went for it. He then said "Too much for ya', Arkansas?" like I was his or something. No freakin lie."
There was a long pause before Adam spoke again. He sounded really angry, but was trying hard to keep his anger to himself.
"Neil......just.........go to your room. I'll have mom and dad take care of you later."
"Adam," Neil pleaded, "I'm sorry! I'm just really curious and Kris is so cute and-"
"GO Neil," Adam snapped, "leave Kris and I alone. Now."
With his head down and face blank, Neil walked through the doorway and went to his room. Once he was gone for sure, Adam clenched his fists and hit the door angrily. Kris wrapped his arms around Adam quietly, not saying a word to him as he began to break down in his arms.
"Want me to stay with you tonight? Or, you can come over tonight if you'd like."
"Come over," Adam said through a sob, burying his head even more into Kris's shoulder.
Kris smiled and placed a kiss on Adam's forehead and then on his lips, trying to both regain the feel of how those freckled lips felt and to reassure his blue-eyed wonder that he was, indeed, his, no matter what.
Why must everything happen to Adam when his life finally starts to go well?
NO H8 <333 =)
Long way from Conway (25 part 1/?)
Oct. 10th, 2010 06:02 pm"Okay, whoever told our English teacher to use these words for our little 'sentences' assignment is a jerk."
"Oh come on," Kris said in laughter, "it's perfectly normal to use these words in sentences, Adam. The fact that they just happen to be words that have different meanings to you doesn't mean that it's a stupid assignment."
Adam raised his eye brow and looked down at his paper.
"It's perfectly normal to have to use the words "lubricate", "ecstasy", and "indulge" all on the same topic in a few sentences? Really???"
Kris laughed. "Yes Adam, people do use those words normally. Want to hear my sentences?"
"I can't wait."
"Before Jim and his son could go out for ice cream, they had to lubricate their car so that it could go. Once it was finished, they felt an overwhelming sense of ecstasy. Finally, they got to go and indulge in some delicious chocolate ice cream cones."
Adam rolled his eyes and sighed, his paper still looking blank and impossible to write on.
"Kris," Adam moaned, laying his head on his study hall desk, "I hate this. We're going off to be sophomores in less than a week and yet we have to do a little kid assignment like this. This school sucks. Why can't we just have music class everyday with Brad, Allison, and my girls?"
With a loving smile, Kris inched over to the edge of his chair and gave Adam a peck on the cheek. "Baby, I know it sucks, but just try. I mean, you do have all A's thanks to my tutoring and your awesome singing ability, so this should come easy to you. Here, why don't you wait until tonight to do this and just begin writing your song for music. Maybe it just might come to you while you write."
"Fine. But you owe me."
"I always make up for it, you know." Kris said with a big smirk, causing Adam to give a big toothy smile. Adam picked up his pencil and just gazed at Kris writing his song down so slowly and carefully, pouring what seemed like all his heart and soul into his writing. It always scared Adam to see Kris write, because every time he saw a pained look on that beautiful face, the fear that it was because of him that it had appeared ran through his mind. Kris smiled this time, though, and not once did he stop. That pencil wrote fast and furious, and Kris really looked inspired and a tad bit cocky. Adam smiled and turned to look back at his paper, grabbing his pencil to happily write about his little cutie of a boyfriend.
-------------------------------------------------
"Adam, will you shut your cell phone up," Kris yelled that night just minutes after he had finally fallen asleep, "because as scary as it is, I, too, need my beauty sleep!"
"Stop being cocky and let me go get it, Kristopher," Adam replied groggily as he got his phone from his backpack. Looking at the caller ID, Adam became puzzled. Who the heck is this?
"Hello?"
"Adam, it's me, Ben."
"BEN?" Adam nearly shrieked, causing Kris to suddenly sit upright in bed fully awake.
"Please Adam, don't hang up. I....I need to tell you something. It's important and it could save your life the way I see it."
Adam rolled his eyes. "Yeah Ben, like you'd help us. How can I trust you after what you've done?"
"I was part of one of Crystal's plans, Adam. Yes, Crystal." Adam's jaw dropped. "She...she was going to have me steal Kris away....rape him....and then turn him over to her so that she could freakin brainwash him into thinking you did it to him and that Crystal was his lover. Luckily, she couldn't get the machine, but she really wants to get Kris back. She....she asked me to pay her out of jail...10 mill.........and I refused. Even though she has no bail, I'm pretty sure they'd taken that. Anyway, she wants to get him back, and I'm worried that she may really do some damage. I mean, she almost killed you once, right?"
Gulping, Adam replied. "Y-yes. Ben...how can we trust you after before, though? You did hurt Kris and....I just don't know why we should-"
"Please Adam," Ben said in a pleading tone, "I don't want you guys to get hurt. What happened was before, and I was scared back then. Now....now I'm smarter. I left Crystal. Heck, I ran away. For all I know, she may have put a hit on me or something by now. I just don't want her to do any more damage. I swear to you Adam, I'm not lying. Please listen to me."
Adam turned and looked at Kris, who was sitting on the bed quietly, appearing to have heard the news Ben had just given. He nodded as if to say 'listen' and then laid back down, pulling Adam's covers over his face. Adam swallowed hard and then spoke.
"Fine, we'll listen, but if anything happens to me or Kris because of you-"
"Nothing will," Ben interjected, "I know Crystal real well. That's why I called the police after I left and told them to put her under more surveillance and to cancel any visits for her. Also, she's no longer allowed out of her cell, so she won't be recruiting anyone to hurt you any time soon. They kindly agreed to what I asked, so I'm pretty sure she won't be leaving anytime soon. Her leaving is your only fear right now, and as long as the police keep a good eye on her, you guys should be okay."
Adam sighed into the phone. "Well, that's good to know. Are you still a 'student' at our school?"
Ben laughed on the other line. "Yeah. Actually, I was always going to be a student there, but when I got caught up with Crystal...well, things changed and I got suspended for two weeks for that fight I had with you..and got bruised up a bit from that Brad kid." Adam smirked. "I get to come back afterwords, though, and I'm gonna try to change my rep before I get branded as the bad boy who will kill you or something. So...um...I'll let you sleep now...uh..bye. Stay safe."
Awkwardly saying bye back, Adam hung up and set his phone down, crawling over to where Kris was laying and giving him a kiss on the cheek, waking him back up.
"Hey."
"Hey cutie. Can I talk to you for a minute? I can't get to sleep since Ben called."
"Sure," Kris mumbled as he sat up, leaning into Adam's arm tiredly when done. Adam hugged him tight.
"When we're older....do you want kids?"
"Ummm...yeah, I guess. Why?"
"Oh," Adam said quietly, "I was just wondering. How many do you want?"
"A few. Maybe two or three."
Adam smiled. "I was thinking the same thing."
"Do you want a little girl that you can hug and dress up and talk about glitter with?" Kris asked with a cute smile. Adam giggled.
"That's like asking if you'd want a little boy who you can rough-house and watch football with. Duh!"
Kris nodded understandingly and cuddled more into Adam's arms. "Where did this come from? I mean, one second you're talking to Ben about Crystal and then you go off on children. There has to be something bothering you. Tell me, Adam."
"Well," Adam shyly said into Kris's shoulder, "I'm worried about the future, I guess. Are we going to collage?"
"I'd like to," Kris confessed. "Even though I want to be a singer I don't really want to give up majoring in something. Are you?"
Adam frowned. "I don't know. Music is so important to me and after hearing all the stories of famous people not going to collage but becoming huge successes in their young age...I just feel like I need to go for my dream and not miss it by going there and doing something I don't like." Kris looked at him with a blank look. "You do understand me, right?"
Kris sighed and then nodded. He then took Adam's hand in his own and kissed it.
"Baby....I know how you feel. It's a tough decision, isn't it?" Adam shook his head 'yes'. "Well, I think what you're saying is really brave of you. Going for your dream is some tough crap to deal with these days. I think you can do it, though."
Adam smiled, but it soon faded into a worried frown in a matter of seconds.
"But what if we do have kids and I need a job because I haven't gotten a singing career? You'll be the only income we have, and then if we try to support two or three kids....Kris, we'd be screwed for life. Not only ours, may I point out, but theirs, too. I just don't want that to happen. And what if we have kids and Crystal comes and kills one or both of us? Then what would happen to our babies? Would our parents raise them?"
"Adam," Kris whispered lovingly, "none of that will happen. If worst comes to worse we could either barrow money from our parents for a while or I could work a second job. I just may get a job that gives me tons of money, though, and you won't need to have a job. Think about it, Adam, we'll be okay as long as we don't give up. Also, we won't be killed by that maniac, but if by some chance we do, we'll just have god parents for them or let our parents take care of them. Our kids would be in the best of hands, I know it. Adam............stop worrying, baby. Aww don't cry."
Adam was sniffling lightly, but the moment Kris acknowledged it, he suddenly bursted into tears. His fears swept him away at that moment, and if Kris wasn't there now being the one who was holding him, Adam would surely be inconsolable. He was only a kid after all. The future was bound to look scary for him.
That's just how things go in the world.
"Adam, you'll be the best kick-ass rock star this world will ever know," Kris said confidently to him. "You'll also be the best parent and husband, too. This little ring you gave may just be a place-holder until that day that you and me really can fully commit ourselves to each other, but I can guarantee that that day will one day come. I can't think of leaving you again, and I promise you that I won't. I love you too much now to ever leave you and jeopardize our future together, Adam. Believe in yourself once again, Adam, because you are the best freakin person ever and need to know it. Now, since I can't get to sleep now, I want you to pin me down on this bed and make love to me the way only you can. Blow my mind, Adam. I dare you to."
As if Adam Lambert could take down a dare like that one.
One second Adam was weak in Kris's arms and the next second he had Kris pinned down on the bed, a smirk overpowering his worried look he had before. Kris smiled proudly.
"That's my boy."
Suddenly, Kris was smoldered by a demanding kiss that was followed by lots of touching and desperate moans from the both of them. Finally, Adam decided it was time to undress Kris and get things started. With one devilish smirk of warning, Adam ripped off Kris's shirt, shredding a long strip of the blank white t-shirt, and threw it across the room, not even waiting a second to kiss Kris's chest greedily. Kris gasped.
"You little twerp! How dare you-"
Adam silenced Kris immediately with a fierce kiss, doing exactly what it was meant to do: make Kris forget all about that stupid and irrelevant shirt on the ground. Once all of Kris's and his own clothes were off, Adam then went to work downstairs, really making that shirt fly from Kris's mind.
Causing a loud whimper from Kris, Adam stopped and crawled up to Kris's ear, kissing him lightly to calm him down.
"Remember those words in class? Well, next time you hear them, I want this night to be in your head instead of a car, two random people, and ice cream. Although I must say, ice cream wouldn't be too bad to think about......."
For a moment, Kris's eyes went wide, only to flutter shut when Adam's lips laid gracefully on the back of his neck, a smile creeping on his face. Then, without warning, Adam flipped Kris over and did what only he knew best at doing, and Kris let out a loud series of yelps and groans.
Yup, never going to be able to hear those words again without this night popping up.
About twenty minutes later, everything was done and calm once again, the room only filled now with soft moans from minuscule kisses and caresses.
He's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As long as a day yesterday was, morning came fast for Adam and Kris.
Especially since Adam's brother Neil was there to wake the couple.
"WAKE UP YOU TWO BUNNIES, IT'S TIME FOR SCHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!!!!!!!!"
Nearly jumping off their beds, Adam and Kris woke, seeing Neil's smirking face just standing at their door all triumphant. Adam groaned.
"Okay Neil, now leave."
"No," he said giggling, "I'm not going anywhere."
Kris was next to groan, this time throwing a pillow at Neil, missing him by inches.
"Neil, stop being a perv and go."
"Nope. Get up and get ready."
Adam groaned. "MOOOOOOOOM!"
"Mom left already," Neil said proudly. "It's just us this morning. Now get ready or else I'll make you miss your bus."
"I liked him better when he was a pain in the butt," Kris mumbled to Adam as he slowly got up. Adam, though, pulled him back under the covers and shot a death glare at Neil.
"Stop being a perv RIGHT NOW Neil! This isn't funny, only sick."
"Sick to you," Neil said evilly, "funny to me. Now get up."
"Are you gay Neil?"
"NO," he shouted a little too defensively, "why would you EVER think that?"
Adam smiled. "Because you'd never do something like this. Now come on, tell me. Are you?"
Neil gulped and then ran out, running straight to his room and slamming the door shut behind him. Adam turned to Kris and let out a loud sigh.
"Kristopher.....I think we have another gay boy on our hands."
"Heaven help us."
In the Blink of an Eye (Kradam Drabble)
Sep. 14th, 2010 07:29 pmIt was as if in a blink of an eye, everything could change. As if you could be having the worst day of your life only to suddenly have it transformed into one of the best. That was the case for Adam Lambert and Kris Allen this time.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
It all started on a breezy Wednesday morning in L.A. at Adam's beautiful mansion of a house just blocks from his studio. Adam was in the middle of getting ready to go on a fancy, romantic dinner date with his newly found husband, Kris, in one of his favorite spots to always eat at. The 'oh so fancy' date just happened to be at Red Lobster, one of Kris's favorite spots to eat at the moment. For hours, Adam and Kris had been fighting on the phone over where to have the date at, and after seeing his cute, pout-faced boy stare at him with the longing look he couldn't resist, Adam gave in, and Red Lobster was set as the place to be. The reason for the date? Well, that is a whole other story itself.
~~~~~~
The day after Adam and Kris had gotten married, they were lying on the beach of one of Adam's private islands he chose for the occasion when the question came up.
"Adam, when can we have a kid?"
As far as Adam was concerned at the moment, Kris just said the most shocking thing ever. So shocking that it made Adam's heart skip a beat and caused him to cough for air, his face with the same shocked look until he finally got over what Kris had said. It took a full ten minutes before Adam could answer properly without freaking out, which he clearly wanted to do.
"Why...why do we need a kid yet? We just got married yesterday. I mean, come on, you and me have our whole lives ahead of us. Why do we need to ruin our little time to ourselves by adding a screaming, needy kid to us?"
Kris glared at Adam with one of those deathly looks that would make a mob boss even re-think his words. It took Adam a moment to completely understand why he was giving the look.
"You want a kid."
Kris nodded.
"But why?"
"Maybe," Kris said, getting up and walking away from where he was just laying, "it's because I thought you'd make a great father and that it would complete our family. But no, you just proved me wrong, Adam, and heck, if you wanted a guy who didn't want kids, then WHY did you even marry me?"
"Kris, I never said-"
"YOU IMPLIED IT ADAM," Kris angrily snapped, "you implied you didn't want kids! I should've seen this coming when I chose to marry a rock star like you. 'Oh I'll have kids with you later' you'll say to me now, but what about later when you're on tour, making it big, huh? You'll just say the same thing and forget me at home, hitting it off with ever dude you meet on the road. Well ya' know what Adam, I sure as hell want kids, and I sure as hell DON'T want you to be their father anymore! Gosh, why did I EVER marry you?"
Adam looked quietly stunned at his husband, a tear falling down his freckled face.
"Because I love you and you love me," he replied with a small voice.
"Well, you know what? I'm through with all that crap. I'm leaving. Bye, Adam."
For a moment, all Adam could do was just watch his lover walk furiously back to their cabin with tears in his eyes. His whole body was just frozen from rejection and fear. Finally, strength decided to show up, and Adam quickly with all his courage ran up to Kris, spun him around so that he was looking straight at him, and planted his lips of Kris's, his arms forcing Kris to stay. The kiss ended slowly and peacefully. Adam looked dead straight into Kris's eyes seriously.
"Listen to me."
Kris struggled under Adam's grasp, but couldn't gain exit from his arms, and with a groan, he gave up, forcing his gaze up at his husband's loving face.
"That's right. Kris...I didn't mean to hurt you by saying that. I...I guess that I came off as saying I never want kids, but the truth is that I do. I'd love a family with you, Kris, and if I could I would give you one right now, but what I was trying to say was that it'd be too soon. I mean, we don't have a stable household that we both live in, we don't have our finances all worked out, you are working on your first album and I'm about to be on tour, our families are still all jumbled up from the wedding, and it takes a lot of time to adopt a baby. We can't just go to a store and get one. We need time. Do you understand, babe?"
Kris lowered his head and slightly nodded, placing his cheek against Adam's chest.
"So," Adam said with a more cheerful voice, "how's about we wait until your album's out and my tour is over to begin the whole adoption stuff. Does that sound like a deal?"
"Yeah," Kris answered in a nicer tone, "that sounds like a perfect idea."
"So it's settled. We'll get our baby when we get more settled with our careers."
"Um Adam."
"What?"
"I want two."
"Just shut up and kiss me."
"Okay."
~~~~~~
So, the reason for the date was simple: to celebrate the fact that their surrogate mother that they had gotten was due any day now, and this would be one of the last times to themselves they had together for a while.
Adam was done getting ready by the time he got the call from Kris telling him to head off to the restaurant, so once the call was ended, Adam slid on his shoes, got his keys, and then ran off to his car-black mustang, as always-with a bright smile on his face. Speeding out from his parking space, Adam began his way to the restaurant in style, placing his dark shades over his eyes and turning on his radio to the local station, singing a long to his own song as it blared through the speakers. Halfway through his drive, traffic stopped out of nowhere, turning Adam's drive from a calm drive with plenty of time to get to his destination into a hurry to get there before he was late. Kris will hate me if I'm late, Adam thought as he beeped his horn, Gosh, what is causing traffic to just stop? Suddenly, the sounds of an ambulance filled the air, and Adam leaned back in his seat with a sigh. "I'll never make it in time," he grumbled to himself, checking his watch, "especially if this is a big wreck ahead."
After a minute, Adam began to hear a few people talking amongst themselves in their cars and decided to listen in effort to get his mind off Kris.
"I heard that it's a celebrity's car who got hit," Adam heard one lady say in the car in front of him, "and that he's hurt pretty bad."
Could it.....no, it couldn't be.
"Oh my gosh, I feel so sorry for him. Isn't he and his husband supposed to be expecting a baby soon?"
"Yeah. Poor Adam must be freaking out."
HOLY CRAP, IT IS!
Jumping out of his car, Adam ran to the sidewalk and sprinted past the tons of cars that were in the large traffic jam. Finally, Adam reached the sight of the accident. A green truck's front bumper was smashed up against Kris's light blue ford hybrid, the front of Kris's car smashed in so close to the front tires that it was almost incredible, and airbags from both cars were draped across one another. Then, Adam gazed at the driver seat and saw Kris laying back in his seat, eyes fluttering, with paramedics treating to him like crazy. Adam's only thought was to run to him, and so he did, only to be stopped by police officers standing by.
"Sir, I'm afraid you can not enter this crash scene," an officer said as he helped restrain Adam back.
"BUT THAT'S MY HUSBAND! YOU CAN GO ASK HIM YOURSELF! PLEASE!"
The officer looked at the others around him and then quickly let go of Adam, watching in a bit of remorse as Adam ran up to the cars where Kris lay. Poor man.
The paramedics all turned to look at Adam when he came rushing up to them. Adam just stared back horrified.
"HELP HIM, PEOPLE!"
Immediately, they all went back to tending to Kris, ignoring Adam as best they could as he cooed words of love and affection to Kris that only he would say. Soon, they had him loaded up into their ambulance, all ready to send him soaring to the hospital. Of course, Adam was allowed to ride because he was related to Kris by marriage, but he had to keep his distance as they worked on Kris. They had taken off Kris's shirt to put many heart monitor stuff on his chest and had put a tube in his nose to give him more oxygen, and Adam was becoming overwhelmed. He hated to see Kris like that, and it hurt to look at him struggle like he was. The last thing he needed was to have Kris get hurt with all the expenses of the new baby coming soon. Suddenly, Lady Gaga singing "Bad Romance" filled the car, and all eyes flew to Adam again.
"It's a ring tone, gosh. Now help Kris, will you?"
As soon as the eyes diverted back to Kris, Adam answered the phone harshly due to his stress at the moment.
"Yes?" he snapped angrily.
"Adam, it's Gia. My water just broke. I'm having the baby today and from...the looks of it, this kid's coming pretty soon!"
Adam groaned, looking at Kris worriedly. "Sweetie, you sure you can't tell it to wait?"
"Um..I don't know much about babies, but I have a feeling that once they start to go, they go. Why?"
"Kris just got in a REALLY bad car accident. He's unconscious and we're heading to the hospital. Wait, I'm pretty sure the hospital we're going to is your hospital! Oh that's great...perfect."
"Wait, Kris is hurt???? But his baby is coming soon!"
"Yeah, but what I'm thinking is that maybe I can be there for you, and then when the baby comes, I can bring it to Kris's room to show him. Sweetie, what room are you going to be in?"
Gia sighed. "I'm thinking the one they SHOWED us last week! GAH this baby is pushy."
Adam slightly giggled and looked at his watch. "Well, don't worry, as soon as I know Kris is okay I'll come as fast as I can to help you, got it?"
"Got it," Gia groaned into the phone. "Gosh, you are so lucky that your driver was here to take me or else I'd probably get in a crash too. Your baby isn't taking it's good ol' time like I wish it was."
"Well I apologize that my unborn baby wants to leave your body so fast."
"Shut up," she yelled into the phone, followed by a shriek of pain.
"Just make it to the hospital without killing a nurse and we may be fine. Bye."
"Oh I hate-"
Quickly, Adam hung up. Fortunately, the ambulance just had arrived at the hospital, and from what the paramedics were saying, Kris was starting to regain some consciousness. Hopefully he would have it all so that he'd get to hear that his baby was about to be born. The paramedics rushed him into the ER and sat Adam out in the waiting room to wait. One doctor waited behind, walking up to Adam quickly with a rushed look on his face.
"Adam," he quickly said, "I'm Dr. Rick Lewis, and I'm going to be working on Kris. I know for a fact that your baby is being born upstairs, and I want you to know that Kris is okay. You should go up there and watch your baby be born. Kris isn't going anywhere, understand?"
Adam nodded, a bit relieved that the doctor's words. He jogged up to a nurse who, after a few words with her, brought him to the room where Gia was. By the looks and sounds of Gia, their baby was about to be born soon. Adam ran to her side and held her hand.
"Hey, I told you I'd be here for you."
Gia coughed out a laugh and then let out another shriek of pain, this time almost killing Adam's hand in the process.
"Damn girl, where did you get those mussels?"
"THE DOLLAR STORE, WHERE DO YOU THINK?"
Suddenly, another doctor, this time a girl, walked in and gazed at Gia with a calm and re-assuring smile.
"Hi Gia," she kindly said, "I'm so glad to see you again."
Gia rolled her eyes and yelped loudly. "Yeah yeah, nice to see you too Dr. Leah, now, will you PLEASE get this kid out of me?"
Dr. Leah giggled and sat down on her little chair, nurses crowding around her and preparing things in the room. It was like some kind of TV show Adam had seen before, yet he never thought they really did all that work just for a newborn baby. Uneasiness slipped into the pit of Adam's stomach, and before he knew it, Gia was pushing, and his baby was being born. Yeah, okay, he knew the baby was coming the moment the doctor said it, but when Gia squeezed his hand, all thoughts disappeared and pain filled their spots. Just when Adam began to loose all feeling in his hand, everything stopped. Gia let go. The loud shouts for Gia to push stopped. And silence filled the room.
Then, Adam heard it.
The baby began to cry.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Back in Kris's room, doctors were fighting to keep Kris in stable condition, hoping that he would wake up in time to see his newborn baby. They worked and worked until finally, Kris began to open his eyes. His first reaction was of complete pain. His whole body hurt. Heck, it felt like a big concrete block had just dropped on him and was still there. He noticed where he was next, seeing all the doctors and feeling the tubes and patches along his body, followed by seeing his right leg in a cast and his other leg bandaged up tightly, some blood showing on the outside. Kris gasped, instantly regretting it as he felt his throat ache back dryly in response. Dr. Rick then walked up, and Kris remembered him instantly.
"Dr. Rick?"
Dr. Rick smiled. "Hi Kris. Long time since your biking accident when you were 16, huh?"
"Yeah," Kris quietly replied, "can you tell me why I'm here, because I'm not quite sure."
"You were in a car crash. You're pretty lucky you didn't die, Kris, because not only was it a horrible crash, but the driver was drunk. He slammed into your car head on going 90 miles per hour. He's most likely going to die."
"Wow," Kris choked out, his mind momentarily freaking out while processing that. "Wait....where's Adam?"
"He was actually there. He was caught in traffic because of your accident and all of a sudden popped up at the scene all worried for you. He was pretty stressed, but after I told him you were going to be fine, he felt a bit better and ran off upstairs."
Kris raised his eyebrow. "Upstairs? For what?"
"Oh," Dr. Rick said happily, "just to see the birth of your child."
"WHAT? Owwww!"
Dr. Rick giggled. "How's about we get some water for you before you hurt yourself anymore?"
"Tell me what you mean, first. Water isn't as important right now."
"Adam got a call from your surrogate. She went into labor, and if I'm correct, she should be having the baby any time now."
A wide grin spread across Kris's face. "You mean my baby's born?"
"Most likely. You should be hearing from Adam soon. Now, I'm going to go get you that water. Press the button on that little remote next to your bed if you need anyone."
"Thank you, Rick."
"You're welcome, Kris. Congrats."
For a moment, Kris just stared at the door with that same grin, his heart beating happily, not a care in his mind except for his little baby.
I'm a father now. Wow.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the Delivery Room, Gia was laying in her bed with Adam by her side in a small chair, his brand new baby girl resting sweetly in her father's arms. Gia sighed and placed her hand on Adam's shoulder.
"You two look perfect together."
Adam smiled and then looked back to his daughter, sleeping soundly in his arms. "You know, I owe it all to you, Gia. Thanks so much for taking good care of our baby girl. I swear, I'll repay you one day."
Gia smiled warmly. "It was my pleasure, sweetie. I mean, it's so awesome to see moments like this. One day, I'll have my own child, but right now, I'm sticking to seeing a family united because of my help. You don't have to repay what-so-ever, Adam. The look in your eyes is enough of a reward."
"Gosh you are too good to be true. Gia...when Kris and I bring this baby home and begin to raise it, I don't want to not have you as a friend anymore. Is it possible we can still be friends even though you don't want to be known to our baby girl?"
"Of course," Gia replied in a quiet voice, "I'd love that. Not many parents do, actually. You know, it's a bit odd, but when parents like you guys ask to be friends...I feel almost..safe with giving the baby to you. Your little girl, I have a feeling, is going to be loved more than I think she'll ever know in her young world. I just know you guys will make her feel special, and if it's not too much to ask, could...could I be there when you show her to Kris? I know she has to go and rest with all those other babies, but I really would like to see him see her before I go."
How could he say no? "Why would I not let you? Of course you can. He probably really wants to thank you."
Gia nodded and laid back into her pillows, her eyes closing softly. "Wake me when you show him."
With a giggle, Adam let out a quiet 'yes' before nuzzling his little girl in his arms.
"Your mommy is crazy. Hopefully you'll be more like me in that department."
"I heard that and no, she shouldn't."
"Go back to bed," Adam said laughing.
"Trust me kid," Gia said a bit louder, "be more like me!"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Three hours later, Kris was awoken to the sound of his room's door being open to reveal Dr. Rick, smiling bright as the sun.
"What's got you all happy?"
"Oh, you'll see. You've got some visitors."
"Who-"
First came Gia in on her wheelchair, who was being pushed by a nurse. She was placed near Kris, and as soon as she was at a stop, Gia reached out her hand and placed it in Kris's, giving it a small squeeze. Something inside Kris told him that something good had happened. By good, he meant that he had a feeling his little baby was going to be coming around the corner in those strong, loving arms of his beloved husband. Sure enough, he was right. Adam came in with a bright smile on his face and with a little pink bundle in his arms, his face full of joy at the moment. He walked up to Kris and, gently, placed their little girl in his arms, his face only growing happier as he saw Kris's face light up.
"Oh my goodness......this....this is our baby..."
"Our baby girl," Adam interrupted, "and she needs a name."
Kris giggled. "Of course she does. You have any name in mind?"
"You are not naming her Glitter, Adam, and that's final," Gia moaned in her chair, making the group erupt in laughter.
"I'm not that mean, Gia. I was thinking Hope."
"Hope?" Gia and Kris both said at the same time.
"Yeah, Hope. All through the pregnancy, Kris and I have been hoping she was going to turn out okay, then we were hoping that she would be born full term, and then I hoped I would see her be born. She's been centered around hope, so i think it's only fitting to call her just that."
Kris looked down at his daughter and watched as she quietly yawned and curled up closer to him. He instantly felt so attached to her, and after a moment of thought, it was decided.
"I agree. Hope Allen-Lambert. It's perfect."
"Hi Hope," Adam cooed to his little daughter, "I'm your daddy. Me and your other daddy Kris are going to take great care of you. We love you so much, sweetie. More than anything, baby girl."
"Yeah, what he said," Kris whispered to her, smiling as she gave a little cute grunt and a small sigh. "I love you too, Adam."
"Same here, Kris. Thanks for helping me get her."
"Thanks to you too, Adam."
--------------------------------------------------------------
And thus, from that day on, Adam and Kris and little Hope lived perfectly together forever, always with this day full in their minds.
Sometimes, a blink of an eye can change your whole life. Hopefully, for the better.
Long way from Conway (22/?)
Sep. 12th, 2010 04:59 pmAt night like this was one Adam and Kris just adored.
Kris was home alone, and thanks to Kim forcing Neil to let Adam over, Adam was sleeping soundly and peacefully by his side, a small smile on his face. Okay, yes, he fell asleep during a football game and Kris was a bit angry that he couldn't cheer when he wanted to, but to see Adam calm and safe by his side made it all worth while. Around the 3rd quarter, Kris decided to get up and go get some food, knowing that Adam would probably be hungry when he woke and that he himself was starved. Getting up carefully to not wake his sleeping beauty, Kris walked out his door and crept down to the kitchen, smirking at how he still had no table there to replace the one that they had broke. Scanning the almost barren shelves of his kitchen pantry, Kris stood with a disappointed frown. Nice Mom. Leave us alone without any food. It's not like we're going to get high on chips and dip! Finally, Kris managed to find a bag of Lays-sadly without any dip-and opened the refridgerator in search for drinks. Much to his luck, Neil didn't lock up all the drinks they had in his car when he left. On the first shelf were two root beers, and once he had them in hand, Kris decided he was ready. Then again, he had set down the chips on the counter, and by the looks of his two hands holding the root beers tightly, he wasn't going to be able to easily pick them up. Scrunching down into a squat, Kris somehow managed to grab the chips in his teeth, almost giggling at himself as he stood fully upright. Suddenly stopping Kris in his tracks, a loud shriek followed by Kris's name yelled loudly shook through the house.
Oh hell no.
Immediately without dropping the food or drinks, Kris began to run to his room upstairs, faster with every call from Adam. The calls grew a bit more desperate as time went by, being nearly a pleading cry by the time Kris reached the room. The second Kris caught sight of Adam, he breathed a tiny sigh of relief. Adam was crying near Kris's bed, his face looking worried and completely terrified.
Well, he's alive.
"Baby, what's wrong?"
Adam slightly blushed, relief filling where the fear had been.
"I...I thought you left me. I mean...I went to bed with you by me and I woke to you no longer being next to me. I'm sorry for being irrational with my calls, Kris."
Adam stared at his lover with a certain look of concern, because Kris looked just shocked-a deer in the headlights-and had a guilty glow to his face that Adam hated.
"Oh my gosh......Adam....d-don't you dare apologize. Sweetie...I'm here. I just went to get food. I couldn't answer 'cause this stupid bag of chips is too big to be carried and my mouth was all I had to help me bring it up here. Oh Adam......just," Kris sprinted to Adam and wrapped his arms around him, planting small, apologetic kisses to his lips as he felt the guilt overwhelm his body. Soon, he was crying a small pool of tears on Adam's chest, his warm arm wrapping lovingly around Kris's back making small circles to comfort Kris.
"Kristopher."
No response.
"Kristopher, look at me."
Shaking, Kris looked up to Adam, finding those baby blue eyes instantly giving off a glow of pure love.
"I love you more than anything. Baby....I want you to promise me that no matter what, you'll always love me. No questions, just promise me."
"I promise....I love you, too, Adam. C'mon, go hop back into bed. We'll snuggle for the rest of the game. Sound good?"
Adam smiled as he crawled back into the bed, patiently awaiting his love to join him. Once Kris was safely into Adam's arms, the two kissed and then watched the screen intently, pausing to kiss each other during every time out or flag.
"Kris?"
"Yes, cutie?"
"I want our parents to meet."
"I think football's messing with that brain of yours."
Adam got up and frowned. "No Kris, I really want them to meet. It'll be good for this to happen. My parents will get to know a bit more about what family I'm exactly getting into for being your boyfriend, and your family will get to see that I'm not raised by cavemen in some cave where gay people live."
"Okay, now you're just being weird. Gay cavemen?"
"It could have happened...."
"You are something else."
"And you know you love that about me. Now, distract me with kisses from your cute little lips before I fall asleep watching your game."
"Fine....gay caveman."
"Whatever...gay chicken-unicorn."
"I.....I'm not even going to ask."
"Just kiss me, Kris."
"Fine."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was the next day, a calm Sunday, and Adam and Kris were both nervous. Last night, they had asked their parents about the meeting, and much to the surprise of them and Adam's parents, Kris's Dad agreed to meet. Adam knew that they had to be perfect for the Allen family to even be able to bring Kris over ever again, and with a crazy, stubborn brother who would do anything to screw with him and with Kris's family, he was going to have to really watch his brother like a hawk. After hours of hearing Kris yap about Neil being nothing compared to Daniel back in the day, it came up in Adam's mind that Neil liked some football. Thus, the idea of Kris actually taking Neil to a game the next weekend popped up, and with the promise to Kris that he would "repay" him later for this, Neil was taken care of.
That settles one monster, now comes the other.
Leila was a mess the second Adam told her about the 'meeting'. She freaked out as she ran around the house, yelling about how there was so much to do in so little time, how they needed like a four-course meal to impress them, and many other things that Adam simply couldn't keep up with. He did help by cleaning up the kitchen and setting the table neatly-and would have done more-but Leila was to the point of full impressing mode. She cleaned everything in sight, setting pillows perfectly out and a perfect amount of magazines on the side table to read, and if it wasn't for the occasional reminder from Adam that Kris's family wasn't that high class of a family, Leila may have just about turned the entire home into something resembling the inside of the White House. Kicking off her flip-flops that she was wearing, Leila slipped on her beautiful high heels and sprinted out of sight to her bedroom, yelling for Adam to get ready. Adam, on the other hand, was too confused at the moment to do much.
Of course, when you're dealing with that, there's not much to do but be confused.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fast forward to three hours later at Kris's house. Kris was laying on the couch, gazing blankly at Sports Center rattle on about who they wanted for the Heisman vote as he waited for his family, when his cell phone rang. Jumping off the couch hurriedly, Kris snagged his cell just in time, flipping it open and speaking with a out-of-breath tone.
"Hello?"
"Kris? You sound like you just ran a mile or something. You okay?"
"Adam," Kris replied a little less exasperated, "yeah, I'm okay. How's things going over there?"
Kris heard Adam laugh hesitantly. "Fine. My mother's going crazy right now. I'm kind of scared to ask her if I can just wear whatever."
"Well, if you die by the wrath of her, I'll make sure you wear something hot when they bury you."
Adam sighed. "Thanks for the support, baby."
Suddenly, Kris heard his mother yell for him to get in the car. Apparently, they were about to leave now.
"Hey, I've got to go. Tell your mom that we're coming over now and that we'll be there in about 10 minutes, okay?"
"Okay. Well, see ya' cutie. Lot's of love to ya'."
Kris giggled. "Lot's of love right back at 'cha. Bye."
Well, this is gonna be interesting. Off to awkward-ville!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"DOOR, MOM!"
"COMING! ADAM, KRIS IS HERE!"
"COMING! DON'T OPEN THE DOOR WITHOUT ME!"
"THEN HURRY YOUR FAT SELF UP HERE!"
"NEIL, SHUT UP AND BE GOOD! THESE PEOPLE ARE IMPORTANT!"
"BUT MOM!"
"SHUSH AND BE GOOD BEFORE I OPEN THIS DOOR! NOW!"
Leila quickly opened the door, revealing the Allens all with normal, un-affected and unknowing faces. Leila smiled.
"Hi! Come on in!"
Trying as hard as he could to stop his laughter, Adam stepped back behind his mother and waited to see his gorgeous boy patiently. Luckily, Kris looked beautiful, a nice light brown suit making him simply eye candy. A sight to see, indeed. And with his hair messy like Adam loves it to be, it was hard for Adam not to run straight up to him and devour him in front of everyone. Kris walked straight to Adam and smiled, his glowing brown eyes making it even harder for Adam to resist.
"Hey Adam," he quietly said with a sparkle in his eye.
"Hi," Adam replied, "you...you look devastatingly adorable tonight. No lie."
Kris winked and then walked back to his family, those same brown eyes looking Adam over with a look of want. Yes, he too thought his lover was nearly in-human look wise. Wearing an equally handsome black suit and his hair draping down in his face slightly, Kris thought that Adam was simply to die for. How he ever let go of this person before, Kris didn't even know. All he knew was that this was the man who he would love forever, no matter what. Just then, Kris's father's voice awoke him from his loving gaze.
"So Leila, this is a pretty home of yours. Your husband around?"
Leila smiled warmly and sat on the couch with the group, her hands placed quaintly on her knee. "I'm afraid he's not here at the moment. He works late on weekends, but he should be here later before dinner."
Neil nodded stiffly, his eyes looking very questioning. "Hmm, I see. Well, I must say that I'm very surprised how nice your house is. So, who's that little guy near you. He's pretty quiet for a young boy."
Leila smiled at her son, wrapping her arm around him nicely. "This is my other son, Neil."
"Ha," he barked, "well young man, I guess we have the same names, huh?"
Neil blinked in a bit of shock and disgust at the mere thought that Neil was liking him.
"Um, I guess so, sir."
"How old are you, my boy?"
My boy my- "Neil, tell him," Leila quickly said hitting his arm lightly.
"I'm 13, sir."
"What a fine age," Neil said enthusiastically, "I remember that age. You play any sports?"
Adam nearly scoffed. Dude, stop grilling my little bro. He's not gay, so shut up and talk about different things, jerk.
"Um...no sir. I'm a writer."
"A writer, huh? You write books?"
"More like blogs and stuff, I guess. I write for my school's newspaper a lot, but I like just reviewing stuff and giving my two cents, ya' know?"
"Well," Neil replied sceptically, "that's very interesting of a task you've got there. Do you have a certain type of music you like?"
Again, Adam almost scoffed. He's 13, what do you think he's going to like? Heck, he likes anything.
"Um...not really. I guess I like my brother's music. He's shown me a lot of the music I listen to. He's even shown me a few I no know on the piano. But those are only my favorites, though."
Neil's face fell. "What music exactly did your brother show you?"
Kris gulped and shot Adam a nervous glance. He better not have shown him anything weird.
"The classics, like stuff from Led Zeppelin, Queen, David Bowie, Elvis....you know, the big guys. I mean, I know too many to tell you all of them, but those are the ones he's really shown me. I was scared of Bowie for a while, but hey, when a kid sees him when they're little, you can't blame them for getting a bit freaked, hehe."
Leila turned and looked at Adam sighing. He just had to show Neil Bowie. Of course.
Neil looked to his wife and then at his sons, a look of worry in his eyes. "You sure you like that stuff?"
"I-"
"Well," Adam interrupted, "I think that's enough music chatter for now. Um, Mom, is dinner almost ready?"
Leila understood completely what Adam meant. Go and check because we need a subject change ASAP. Getting up, Leila smiled kindly at the Allens.
"Actually, I need to check. Hey Neil sweetie, can you help me?"
"With what?"
Leila groaned and then pulled Neil off the couch. "Just come help me."
As soon as Neil and Leila left, the room was silent, and Kris looked at Adam, waiting for him to say something. Finally, he did.
"So..Mr. Allen...I think we have a lot to talk about, huh?"
"Very much indeed, Adam."
"May I start us off?"
"Go right along."
"Why the heck would you ever even think about throwing Kris out on the street like you did? And don't give me the gay crap, I want the truth. Tell how you thought that it was the right idea to throw your son out in the streets like you did with no shelter with all the horrible people that live on them? I want to know, Mr. Allen. Tell me."
Neil easily took on Adam with tons of confidence. "I think that it was the right idea. He did something unforgivable. Why should I let him hurt my good son and wife with his presence."
"What exactly did he do? Turn gay? Or maybe, just to throw this out to you for you to think about, he was always gay and just figured it out? Huh? What good would it have been if he had married a beautiful girl and then saw some cute boy and then realized that he liked guys when he had all that to lose. You think that would be right? You can't just turn gay, sir, and if you think I'm the reason, like I somehow 'corrupted' him, you are far from right. I never once told him he had to be gay, I never said he had to like me, I never pressured him to do anything, but he still did just that, and you can't say he can't be who he is. So sir, what you are saying here is just wrong. You had no rite to kick him out. Sorry."
Neil looked at Adam angrily, his jaw clenched tight and eyes piercing. "You also have no rite to say that."
"Does that justify what you did to him?"
"Well I-"
"GUYS!"
Both angry eyes looked over at Kris, who was nearly in tears, standing up and shaking from anger. Adam calmed down immediately.
"Please...stop fighting, okay? Adam, I know you're mad about what he did to me...we all are....but it's my battle to fight, babe. I know you are mad that he's questioning your brother, too. Please Adam...just relax. I hate when you're like this...all mad. Anger isn't a good color on you, and you don't deserve to be put under all this. Let me be strong. I can do it. And Dad, you need to stop being such a.....well, you know what! Adam and his family are the kindest people on this Earth that I've ever met. His brother isn't going to be 'corrupted' by him, because he's his own person. He's smart, talented, and sometimes a pain in the butt, but who cares!? He's amazing just the way he is! Leila's the most kindest lady ever, and she rocks. She knows how her kids are, she loves them for them, and she's not afraid to stand up for them! Adam's father Eber is so accepting...something you NEVER are, and he puts Adam's dreams in motion instead of shooting them down like you! Try letting me be who I am instead of who you want me, and heck, everyone, to be! It's OUR problem! Adam is the most sweetest, loving, caring, talented, and beautiful person inside and out that I've ever met, and I LOVE him, Dad! He never says that I can't do or be something I want! He takes good care of me and, even though we have had our crazy moments that we let loose or when we got mad at each other, we always come together and forgive and forget! He comforts me when I want to be comforted, he always gives me a hand when I need one, he loves me when I need to be loved, and he is the BEST man in this whole freakin world! Dad, you can think what you want, but THIS is who I love and NOTHING is going to bring me to not believe that! So deal with it!"
The room became silent. Kris stayed standing, his eyes now letting loose the tears he had tried to keep from falling, and his head was down. Neil looked over to Kim and Dan, who quickly turned their glances away from him and to Kris. Next, Neil looked over to Adam, seeing him in tears also as he stared at Kris with an odd look to his face. Neil then caught Leila and her son Neil peeking through the door; Leila trying to stay strong and Neil in shock at what had happened.
Ever so slowly, Adam walked over to Kris and just wrapped his arms around Kris tightly as Kris broke down. Neil could see that Kris was happy that Adam had walked up to him just then, as if what Kris had said was true. Adam did know when to comfort.
"Shhh...it's okay Kris...calm down."
"But...I wanted...this to be...special! A good..d-day."
"Hey, you know what? It still can be. How's about you take a little nap to calm you down and then we can go and take a swim at our lake? Sound good to you?"
A small but noticeable nod came from Kris.
"I love you," he whispered into Adam's neck.
"I love you too, Kris. No matter who," Adam shot a look at Kris's Dad, "dislikes it. Now come on, let's tuck you in. The lake's waiting for you."
"Okay."
Hand-in-hand, Adam and Kris walked towards Adam's room, closing the door quietly when in. Still in the living room, Neil was frozen in place as he tried to stand tall as if that didn't affect him. Kim shot out of her seat the minute the door shut.
"WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM, NEIL?"
Daniel shook his head and stood up by his Mom, resting his arm around her tightly.
"I agree. Heck....I don't even want to be in the same room as you anymore. I'm spending the night with some friends. Thanks a lot....Neil."
Daniel quickly stomped towards the door. He stopped by Leila and Neil calmly, though.
"Thank you very much for your kind hospitality, Leila. Always a pleasure to be in your presence."
He then left, slamming the door behind him. Kim still stood glaring at Neil angrily.
"Leila was right a long time ago. I need to stick up for myself and Kris more. So here's what I'm going to do. Neil, you can NOT sleep at my house tonight. I'm KICKING you out. BYE and don't think about coming home tonight!"
With a wave to Leila, Kim stomped out behind her son's tracks, slamming the door just like him. There Neil still stood, his face now in shock. Just then, Adam came out of his room and glared at him, walking straight in front of Neil with absolutely no forgiveness in his eyes.
"Get out. Now. You don't deserve to be welcomed by us any more."
"But-"
"I SAID LEAVE! NOW!"
Scared and shocked, Neil crawled away from Adam and ran out the door as fast as he possibly could. Once he was gone, Adam began to slip from his mask of confidence and strength. Leila quickly ran to him and wrapped her arms around him tightly, kissing his cheek tenderly.
"I'm proud of you, Adam. So very much."
Adam looked towards his room and sighed, his hug to his mother becoming tighter.
"I had to do it. No one EVER hurts Kris like that. Ever."
Leila looked up at her son and patted his back in agreement.
"I love you."
"I love you too, Mom."
