A/N: Hey, sorry for no chapter for like, 2 weeks, but with the holidays and all, I had barely ANY time to work on this. So, enjoy this update :) Well, as much as you can {hides in hole} Don't hate me after you figure out what's gonna go down at the end! It's Crystal's fault, not mine! :P

It wasn't like any day. It was more like a dream. A bad one. A bad dream that Adam and Kris wanted to wake up from. They sat in the Lambert household on Adam's bed with blank expressions just shaken. They knew that if nobody worth anything found out about the whole spy subject, school would be and continue to be a living hell. They knew that the song was just going to move people, but not stop them from what they were plotting behind their back. They knew also that school was about to end. Junior year was up in no less than a week, and that meant torment, some sort of performance to the school for music class, and frankly, one more week of school.

It seemed like a lot was going to happen before the school year was done. And, if the signs weren't strong enough already, Kris and Adam had received one more note that chilled them to the core.

It was from Crystal, of course, and it basically stated that she was very capable of making this even worse of a situation if they told anyone else.

Exactly what they needed.

Kris took to Adam's side and wrapped his arms around the taller man with a deep sigh. "We'll be okay. Stop worrying about her."

"Her?" Adam asked with a content snort. "I'm worrying about you."

"Don't then. You shouldn't be worrying about me, her, or anything. You gave me a ring, I said yes, and that means we promised to go through anything. We keep telling each other that and yet you are getting down in the dumps about this."

Adam sighed and gently pried away Kris's arms before curling up to his pillow like a child. "How can I not be worried about you, Kris? Huh? We have Crystal on our butts no matter how strong our love is, Kris! Face the facts for once! I mean, not that our love won't help, but it's certainly not going to stop that psycho from trying to kill me or hurt you to get you! We need to do something other than act like little whimps scared that a monster in our closet is going to attack us. We need to take freakin charge already."

"How Adam?" Kris shot back. "I'd like to know your plan since you are so gun-ho about 'taking charge'!"

For a moment, Adam fumed in complete anger behind his skin because, frankly, he didn't know. He didn't know exactly how they were going to get rid of Crystal without anyone else knowing or helping. He just didn't know what to do.

That's when he broke down.

"I DON'T KNOW, OKAY KRIS?" Adam screamed through tears, alarming Leila, who was just helping Neil get something from his closet, to the point of pure curiosity. She quickly made her way to Adam's room, seeing that Neil had followed behind her, and gently cracked open the door. She saw Kris inside holding Adam in their arms as he broke down, his tears falling like waterfalls and his body slightly shaking.

She decided to intervene.

"Boys, what's going on?" Leila asked as she slid inside the room, blocking Neil from coming in behind her by shutting the door immediately. Adam looked up from Kris's chest and sucked in a deep and sharp breath of shock. Leila couldn't find out if he didn't want Crystal to come after them.

Or could she?

"M-Mom.....Crystal....s-she....she's after us. At school."

Leila gasped. "She's at the jail, could she-?"

"Spies," Adam replied, looking into Kris's eyes soothingly after seeing how he clearly was shocked he even told her. "She has spies like Hailey was that will see everything we do and report to her. They try to break me and Kris apart. She said that if we tell anyone about this she'll kill me, Momma. She wants Kris. She wants to kill me for Kris."

"Oh Adam," Leila cooed, taking Adam from Kris's arms and putting him into her own arms, "I won't let her do that to you."

"You might not want her to, but she's tricky. She could kill you also if she thinks you threaten her chances at getting to me, Momma."

Her heart aching, Leila shook her head and grabbed her cell phone, determination now in her veins. She quickly dialed Eber's number. He picked up on the second ring.

"Hello? Leila, is something wrong?"

"Eber, can you make me an appointment with your friend David later on today? I have a job for him."

Kris raised his eyebrow and looked confusedly at Adam for an explanation. He didn't even have a clue about who she was talking about.

"Sure, but why? What job?"

"He'll know why and what job when I talk to him. Just... tell him I'll be over at around 3 today. Bye Eb."

"Bye Leila."

Hanging up her phone, Leila looked to the boys who were curiously staring at her and had been for the past minute or so. She calmly stood and  said to them "I'm going to take care of this, Crystal's spies chasing after me or not" and then left, leaving the boys puzzled behind her.

What was she going to do and who the heck is David?

"Hello David."

"Hi Leila," the tall and dark man known as David said as he shook Leila's hand and welcomed her into his office. His dark chocolate skin radiated in the dim light and his police badge was hung loosely from a gold chain around his neck, swinging lightly as he sat. Opening a book that looked like a planner, David opened a blank sheet and with a dark gold pen wrote down a few quick notes before turning to look at Leila. His warm smile seemed to calm the mood of the room, but it didn't do it that well. Leila's hand was shaking.

"Leila...please tell me....why am I in need by you?"

"You've worked undercover before, correct?" Leila asked, noting the badge hanging over his V-neck t-shirt. David nodded and scribbled another thing into his paper.

"Indeed I have. Why, is something going on?"

Leila sighed. "My son and his boyfriend are getting threats from this one girl. You may know her. Her name is Crystal-"

"Oh, I know that girl," David replied with a hint of disgust. "She's one hell of a coo-coo bird, let me tell you that. Wait, were they the ones she almost shot before?"

Shivering away the thought, Leila nodded and continued with her story. "She apparently has placed 'spies' around their school by the use of a cell phone and visitors at her jail cell, to my guess. Basically, through the spies, she's told them that if they tell anyone about these threats, she'll kill my boy, Adam. Heck, I think...I think that's her plan, anyway."

"All because she wants the other boy, huh?" David said with a sigh, remembering the story from when she almost shot them. "She's even more of a coo-coo bird than I thought. So, what exactly do you want me to do?"

"If you can, without drawing this back to me or them, get Crystal's connection to the spies severed and, if it's possible, get someone to watch the boys so that nothing bad happens to them. Whatever you do, though, don't let anyone know this is connected to them. You know, so Crystal doesn't send someone to hurt them."

David, after finishing scribbling even more down, took out yet another paper and looked up to Leila with another warm smile to show he cared. "Leila, if you could, could you give me a picture of the boys so that I can make sure I get the right guys. I mean, not like I wouldn't. but just so..well...I can know. Also, so I can get them into the system and stuff."

Leila nodded and pulled out a picture of the boys she took of them when they had gone to the beach last time. David took it and slid it into the papers, writing down what it was. He then once again looked up at Leila.

"May I have their full names?"

"Kristopher Neil Allen and Adam Mitchel Lambert."

"Okay. I'm going to go get this work in process. Don't mention this to th e boys, but please do assure them they'll be okay. I promise you, I won't let them get hurt." Reaching out to hold Leila's shaky hands in his, David smiled and looked her in the eyes sincerely. "I promise."

And that, he did.

The next day was Monday. The last week of their Junior life in high school. They walked the floors in silence as occasional glances in their directions were given and headed off to their lockers. To their nervous surprise, Nicole was standing there in front of the lockers with an equally nervous look on her face, as if to say she wanted them to hurry up and get to her before something happened. Kris cleared his throat and was first to speak to her.

"Why are you standing there?"

Nicole fumbled with her purse and then pulled out a picture. It was of Tommy, that blond haired kid they met before, and he was leaving the jail where Crystal was at.

"First, let me tell you I quit working for her. I don't know if Ben or someone told you yet, but I did. Second, I took this picture because I was watching him after school that day. I followed him and he led me to her prison. Let's just say that he was calm when he came in and angry and tense when he came out. I don't want to jump to conclusions and say he quit or is determined to help, because I've talked to her before when I still was working for her and had gotten just as mad, but I think he may be coming around. You know," Nicole said, waving her hand to try to find the right words to say, "converting."

Adam stared at Nicole and, with his face unchanged, asked "Why should we believe all that?"

Nicole sighed. "I thought you'd say that. Adam, Kris, you honestly have every reason not to believe me. Please, though, just once, have some blind faith in me. I know Tommy. He never has really liked how Crystal goes at things. She's been 'training' him for this, but he's never really understood her reasons and style of attack. I'll admit, Tommy is unpredictable, but I do know he has a good heart deep down. I think he's really turned sides."

"Thank you," Kris mumbled in response, seeing Nicole's face light up ever so slightly. "Thanks you for not hurting us."

With a flip of her hair, Nicole smiled and walked off, accomplished with her talk. Kris turned around to his love and sighed deeply.

"We are so screwed up, ya' know?"

Adam giggled in his sullen mood. "Yeah, I know. I mean, we have to be since we haven't even made out for like, a week!"

Kris nodded in his normal playful tone but then turned serious. He wrapped his arms around Adam's waist as he was gently pressed up against his locker and trapped by the taller man. Slowly, Kris raised his head up to peck a small kiss on to Adam's cheek, receiving a peck in return from him. He then pulled Adam closer to him, making sure there was little or no space separating their bodies.

That's when the make-out ensued.

The two kissed deeply, tongues tangled and hearts racing, as students watched and passed by half turned on and half disgusted by them. Kris kept making little grunts/moans as Adam kissed him passionately against the locker, only driving the 'session' to go on and become even more heated. Suddenly, though, Hailey walked by and ripped them from each other.

"How dare you kiss Crystal's boyfriend?" She yelled in her annoying tone. Kris rolled his eyes and once again grabbed Adam and pulled him in close for a kiss. Why should I listen to her?

"Um, excuse me wackjob, but I'm in the middle of something," Kris growled possessively as he for a third time brought Adam's lips to his, having to stifle the inevitable groan escaping Adam's lips right then. Hailey just pulled them apart again and grabbed Kris by the arm so he couldn't go back over to Adam anymore.

"Stop this madness! Crystal is Kris's girlfriend, and that's how it will stay! Deal with it already and just give up, Adam, before it's too late!" Adam groaned and snatched Kris back into his grasp, pushing Hailey away from them with his spare hand.

"Leave us alone, Hailey. I'm not leaving Kris and there is no way you can make me."

Hailey took one look at Kris, one look at Adam, and then stomped off, yelling 'we'll see about that!' behind her.

And even as the boys resumed their kissing, those words remained in their heads.

Hopefully, she wasn't going to act on them.

"Crystal, they were kissing like two monkeys! It was so disgusting."

"Oh my dear Hailey," Crystal dramatically-like always-said as she laid sprawled out on her cell bed, "we'll end this sooner or later."

"But how?" Hailey asked, confused. "I thought you said Tommy wasn't cooperating and that you were going to lay him off the job."

Crystal devilishly smiled and walked to the front of her cell. "Easy, my dear." She then, from behind her back, held out a gun, perfectly polished and almost devious. Hailey gasped.

"No way."

"Yes way," Crystal said with a nod.

"You are going to kill Adam Lambert for me."
